Whether you are visiting the Fairest Cape for business or pleasure, we will ensure your stay is a comfortable and memorable one.
The first impression you have upon entering is one of abundant space and light.

Floor to ceiling glass on two walls, gives you a breathtaking panoramic view from Cape Point across the entire bay to Cape Hangklip on the opposite shore, creating a tranquil ambience in which you can relax and unwind.

Wooden floors run throughout the house, complimented by wonderful antique pieces that grace the hallways and living areas.

Each of our six rooms is beautiful and spacious, furnished with comfortable king-size beds and orthopedic mattresses for a good night's rest.

South africa hotels

Five of the rooms are situated on the upper level, and have direct access to the upper balcony through sliding doors. Our family suite is located on the lower level and consists of two inter-leading rooms and an en-suite bathroom.

Cape Blue is our most spacious room, and has magnificent views across False Bay and down the coastline toward Cape Point.
This room is situated upstairs, and has direct access to the upper balcony through glass sliding doors. It has a lovely en-suite bathroom with a shower and a free-standing Victorian bath.
Like all of our rooms it is equipped with soft fluffy towels, a hairdryer, a writing desk/dressing table, a clock-radio, a heater, extra blankets and plenty of cupboard space.

Fig Tree Blue is a lovely, cosy room with views to write home about. Although it is one of our smaller rooms, it measures a spacious 20m², and the bathroom offers both a bath and a shower.
Glass sliding doors lead directly onto the upper balcony offering sweeping views of False Bay. There is a separate bathroom just across the passage, which is dedicated exclusively to Fig Tree Blue.
We provide thick fluffy dressing gowns for you to wrap up in after a lovely soak in a steaming bubble bath.

Dotted Blue is a light, spacious room, which opens out onto the upper balcony through glass sliding doors. This room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, from which you can look out across the ocean.
There is a lovely big writing desk / dressing table and plenty of cupboard space. The sea and lake views are breathtaking, and a spectacular sunrise can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed as the sun comes up over the mountains on the opposite shore.

Meadow Blue is located upstairs at the corner of the house, and has direct access to the upper balcony through glass sliding doors.
Decorated in hues of delicate green and pink, this room has a lovely cosy feel and is the nearest to the guest kitchen and honesty bar (very convenient for a midnight snack!)
Views of both the lake and sea can be seen from this room, and enjoyed while standing under a wonderful warm shower.

Clover Blue is our newest room and has been decorated in a romantic, Victorian style. Complete with it's own private balcony from which you can enjoy stunning sea, mountain and lake views, it offers a cosy sanctuary for sunbathing, or catching up on a good book.
This room is perfect for romantic evenings watching the moon rise, or for simply relaxing in bed on a sunny morning.

Lucerne Blue is a lovely spacious suite situated in a private corner, on the lower level of the guesthouse. It consists of two interleading rooms which share an en-suite bathroom.

Reed ceilings, moss green walls and crisp white linen create a warm and inviting space in which to relax and truly soak up that holiday feeling. These rooms are ideal for a family group, and comfortably sleep up to four people.

Bluebottles Guest House Facilities

Our dining area opens out onto the lower balcony, and on still sunny days the breakfast tables are moved out into the fresh mountain air.

Breakfast consists of fruit salad, yoghurt, a selection of cereals, seed loaf, bacon and eggs, mushrooms, tomato, toast, fresh cape fruit juice and tea or coffee. Should you have any special dietary requirements, please don't hesitate to let us know.

We have two comfortable lounge areas in which we invite you to relax and put your feet up. One is located downstairs, next to the dining area and boasts spectacular views with doors leading out onto the lower balcony.

The upper lounge is a wonderful space to unwind in, and catch up on a bit of reading; there are plenty of books for you to read, satellite television and a video machine for those nights when you feel like staying in and just lazing about.

We have two marble-top kitchens, which are fully equipped for your convenience. The upstairs kitchen is available to our guests for storing food and preparing meals, and our dining table is ideal to gather around for a cosy dinner, a relaxing drink, or even a game of cards.

An honesty bar, well stocked with drinks and snacks, and complimentary tea and coffee is also available for your enjoyment.

An indigenously landscaped set of stairs leads from the road, up the mountain to the guesthouse. There are 131 steps from the bottom, so of course we both have fabulous legs!
Parking is only available on the road where most of the residents in the area park.

Far above the day to day the hustle and bustle the guesthouse is perfectly situated for an early morning run along the scenic 'Boyes Drive' and then back along the edge of the sea in the fresh ocean air. (about 7km)

Indigenous fynbos, specific to the mountainous regions of the Cape, attracts a wealth of insect and bird life to our garden. This garden is truly a labour of love, and is sure to become more enchanting each time you visit our guesthouse.

Attractions / Activities
Muizenberg is half an hour's drive from Cape Town city centre and twenty minutes drive from the Cape Town International Airport.
There are wonderful tourist destinations in close proximity; such as the Cape Point Nature Reserve, the penguins at Boulders Beach, the famous Cape Winelands, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and Simons Town Naval Base.
Shops, banks, restaurants, railway stations, a doctor, dentist, post office, the beach and an information centre, are all within a 5 minute walk.

Please note that due to the position of the guesthouse, it can only be reached by stairs. It is therefore unsuitable for wheelchair access, and may be problematic for disabled or elderly guests.

From the Airport
Exit the Airport and travel along the N2 towards Cape Town, take the M3 turnoff towards Muizenberg and drive along the M3 until the road ends in a T-junction.

Turn left into Steenberg road, turn right at the traffic lights into Main Road and continue along Main Road, past the Masque Theatre on your left.
Turn right into Ronleigh Rd, opposite Bed Fellows furniture shop.

Ronleigh Rd makes a sharp bend to the right, follow the road for about 100m after the bend.
