Set in a landscape that offers natural beauty year-round, our streets are lined with pear trees and in springtime, they burst into snowy blossom.
The tranquil village of Loxton is a tiny settlement of 65 permanent residents living in the town itself and is a destination that speaks of silence, sunsets and stars.
Guests can unwind by taking strolls around the village, climbing our rocky hills for amazing views or by just enjoying night skies with see 20 satellites within 2 hours, thanks to no air / light pollution.

Karoo Cottage Accommodation

Our cottage has a double bed and a single bed in the main bedroom. The en-suite bathroom has a shower only.
The kitchen is equipped for self catering and has cooking utensils, microwave, cutlery / crockery, fridge, sink and a 2 plate gas stove.
Other features include miscellaneous furnishings, small dining table and chairs.

How To Get To Karoo Cottage

From R63 road between the West Coast via Calvinia to Victoria West
Driving time from Carnavon or Victoria West is approximately 1 hour.
Turn into Loxton, the school's playing fields are on your right, and there’s a small white building (previously a shop) on your left. Turn left immediately after this small white building.
Follow this road for 3 blocks (the 3rd block consists of a long row of dark green buildings), turn left immediately after last dark green house.
At this 3rd road we have a sign on the side of our house for Karoo Cottage, and another sign on at gateway. There are 2 motor gates - Karoo Cottage is accessible from the second motor gate.
From the R381 (gravel road) from the N1 at Beaufort West
Driving time from Beaufort West is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
This R381 road from Beaufort West runs straight into Loxton’s church circle and you can only travel clockwise around circle.
When you reach the church and are facing it, go left around the circle but DO NOT take the first road off the circle to your left.
Continue around the circle and take the 2nd road to the left (there should be a bottle store on your right as you take this 2nd left)
At the stop street (cross-roads) just past the bottle store, turn left, turn first right after this and there are 2 motor gates - Karoo Cottage is accessible from the second motor gate.
Please alert us of your arrival at the 1st motor gate. Parking for Karoo Cottage is through the 2nd motor gate.
