5 Pelican Place Accommodation

This consists of a choice of two delightful apartments at the beach. Pelican Place Beach Apartment is sunny and spacious (120m2), sleeping from 2 – 6 adults in absolute comfort and style. Children are welcome.

A generous main en-suite bedroom with queen bed and direct access to garden.
Second bedroom with twin beds and full bathroom.
A double bed in a romantic nook off the lounge sleeps a third couple the lounge has a further double sleeper couch and a single bed.
A well equipped open plan kitchen and generous dining room lead into a sheltered garden with barbeque facilities, outdoor seating and a trampoline.

Secure off-street parking is provided for 2 cars.
To add to the basic comforts, luxuries and modern conveniences such as a washing machine, dishwasher, coffee percolator, microwave oven, satellite TV (conditions apply), DVD player and a library,we also provide linen and bath towels,good mattresses and a healthy dose of the Atlantic sea breeze .
Children are most welcome.

Jeremy will usually (surf permitting) take our guests out to sea on our boat in order to partake in these delightful activities.
Connoisseurs of fine wines ,outstanding restaurants, exclusive wine estates and golf courses can take a relaxed 15 minute drive over the breathtaking Silvermine Mountain Pass to enjoy these luxuries. If it’s indoor shopping you’re after, Long Beach Mall (5km) offers cinemas, boutiques, restaurants, banks etc.
The city, with its vibrant V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain, is a mere 45 minute drive from Kommetjie on the highway.

Experience breathtaking views of Chapmans Peak and Noordhoek Beach from horseback, visit Kakapo shipwreck & watch indigenous bird life on one of the Capes most beautiful beaches.
Enjoy a glass of Champagne while watching the sun set or feel the wind in your hair when cantering along the waters edge. Knowledgeable guides and well-behaved horses will ensure this to be the experience of a lifetime.

The South Peninsula has several mountains and National Parks, so it is understandable that there are numerous breathtaking walks and hikes to enjoy, all within a relatively small area.
The walks range from short easy strolls to day walks that will satisfy the extreme hikers out there.
There is a large amount of literature on all the hikes/walks in the area. You can take a 8km uninterrupted walk along the famous Long Beack, which ends below Chapmans Peak Drive.


The Cape Town Wine Route, in Constantia, is only a 20 minute drive from 5 Pelican Place.
Constantia boasts some of the finest wine farms in the world, among them are Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Buitenverwagting, Uitsig, and Steenberg.
Constantia won world wide acclaim as early as the 1700's when the British Royal Family made it their wine of choice. All the major wine farms in Constantia welcome the public to come and taste their wine, and experience the ancient art of wine making.


Boulders Beach must be one of the most beautiful beaches in the Cape and home to the endangered African Penguin. There are some 570 pairs of these adorable little critters, so you can be guaranteed to see several of them wallowing in the sun or just going about there daily business any time of the day you decide to visit. Boulders beach is the perfect beach to swim or snorkel at, it is safe for kids or weak swimmers and offers excellent shelter from the South East wind that blows regularly in summer.

Over the summer season the Southern Right Whale comes to the south coast of South Africa to calf and mate, and this provides a wonderful opportunity to get close to and observe the whales basking in their natural habitat.
A whale watching trip by boat is an exciting way to view the whales, you get as close as 15m before the engines are cut.
Your vessel is an 8m long rubber duck with two 85 horse power engines. The trip lasts an hour and a half, and leaves from the near by Simons Town Harbor on a regular basis depending on the weather.

The South Peninsula is famous world wide for its rich sea life, so it is not surprising that there are excellent local facilities for the diving or snorkeling enthusiast. Facilities range from gear hire, guided shore dives, night dives, wreck dives, shark dives (False bay is a breeding ground for the Great White shark),air fills, visual and hydrostatic pressure testing ,courses(ranging from open water to dive master). Pleasure charters are also available such as sun downers and Seal Island trips.
