Kalk Bay is situated on the False Bay coastline, 35km from Cape Town city centre. The village of Kalk Bay is renown for its antique shops, galleries, theatre, restaurants and, of course, its working fishing harbour.

The local eateries specialise in seafood, with the daily catch hotly bargained for each morning by resident chefs. Bishop’s View is perfectly situated for access to all the amenities of Kalk Bay.

Accommodation consists of four double bedrooms, all en-suite with satellite television in each room. There is one queen, two king and one extra-length king-size bed.
There are four en-suite bathrooms with showers, heated towel rails and full-length mirrors. Two of these have baths.

The gourmet kitchen has a gas hob with extractor fan, oven, fridge, microwave, wine cooler, ice- maker and dishwasher. It is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery and all the extras for the gourmet chef.
Catering can be arranged on request.

The lounge has magnificent views with floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto the deck. Blinds and shutters offer privacy and shade.
There is a gas fireplace, satellite TV with DVD machine and a state of the art sound system. The furnishings are top-quality pieces from local and international designers.


The house is serviced daily and a housekeeper is on hand from 8.30 – 5pm. The laundry is equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities.
Bedding, towels and guest laundry is serviced by the housekeeper at your request and is included in the daily rate. Weekend service is available on request.

The ultimate luxury for mind and body is to enjoy daily steam treatments in the sauna/steam room that is spacious enough for 6 people.
This beautifully designed room is your own private spa and is easily operated.
The Yoga room overlooks the pool and sundeck and is perfect for zen sessions at sunrise or for having a good stretch or workout before a steam treatment.
It is equipped with mats, yoga balls and a set of weights for your use.
Massages and beauty treatments can be arranged on site by reputable local therapists.


Relax on chaise longues around the swimming pool on the sun-drenched, sheltered patio.
The lounge, kitchen and dining-room flow out onto the deck which is perfect for outdoor feasts and is equipped with easy to use barbeque facilities.

For the busy executive who needs to stay in touch, there is wireless internet connectivity available. A cordless telephone with three extensions is available for incoming and emergency calls.

Kalk Bay is a quiet village with regard to crime but for extra safety the house is secure and alarmed with armed response on 24-hour call. There is also an intercom and screen for controlled access and secure undercover parking for four cars.

A 100m stroll down the cobbled street will bring you into the heart of the village where great cappuccinos and gourmet meals are available day and night.
There are many clean beaches and tidal pools within walking distance.
Neighbouring villages that are a must to visit are Fish Hoek, Muizenberg and Simon’stown.
Each have excellent beaches for swimming and surfing and are a paradise for children.

Local attractions within a 15km radius include the famous Boulder’s Beach Penguin Colony where you can swim with the penguins in a safe and wave-free environment.
Take a boat trip out from Simon’s Town Waterfront to watch the whales, dolphins and seals frolicking in the bay.
Constantia’s famous vineyards are only a 10-minute drive, where you can sample the delights of Cape wines, brandies and aperitifs while enjoying superb lunches or dinners on the estates.
Cape Point Nature Reserve can be accessed along the beautiful coastal road within half-an-hour and mountain walks meander in all directions from your front door.
Three boat clubs in the area offer keelboat, speedboat and catamaran facilities.
Golf is also well catered for with three world-class courses nearby.
Boating, sailing, golf, squash, gym, horse-riding and many other activities are available to the visitor within a short driving distance.
