Blue Jay Lodge Accommodation

Affording the discerning traveler a tranquil haven away from home, walkways meander past the main lodge through the trees to reveal four exclusive suites as well as a self catering lodge - each under thatch offering a harmonious combination of local craftsmanship and the luxury of modern conveniences.
Choose from the Paradise, Loerie, Shrike or Sunbird Suites on a Bed and Breakfast basis or select the
Self Catering Kingfisher Lodge with its master en-suite bedroom, kitchen and open plan lounge dining room accommodating 2 guests. Alternatively, book the Kingfisher Lodge together with the Suites as an entire self-catering facility accommodating up to 10 guests.

Blue Jay Lodge Facilities

Our accommodation exudes refinement and supreme comforts such as fully-stocked mini-bars, beverage trays, DSTV, air-conditioning, overhead fans, bathrobes, private decks, fine linen, mosquito nets and king-size beds (or single beds if preferred).
Relax on your own private verandah or cool off in the secluded rim flow pool whilst sipping refreshing drinks and watching the birdlife amongst the trees.
As Blue Jay Lodge is centrally located in Hazyview, Mpumalanga, on the edge of Kruger National Park, an early morning game drive is within easy reach.


Phabeni Gate is a mere 10 minute drive away and Kruger Gate a 30 minute drive away.
The wonders of the Lowveld Panorama sights such as Gods Window, Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes, The Pinnacle and Pilgrims Rest are all within day trip tour distance from this very central location.
For the more adventurous there are a variety of other activities in the area such as abseiling, river rafting, horse-riding, aerial cable rides, kloofing and walking trails, microliting, as well as hot air ballooning.

For the avid golfer, there are two excellent golf courses nearby not to mention a variety of restaurants and retail shops within a 10 km radius of Blue Jay Lodge.

The Ringetani Project, a self-help community based project will teach you more about the Shangaan culture of the area with a visit to a cultural village.

Directions:
Blue Jay Lodge is situated approximately 3km from Hazyview Centre in Blue Jay Lane:
From Johannesburg - take the N12 to Witbank and onto the N4 to Nelspruit (from Pretoria, take N4 through Witbank to Nelspruit)
From Nelspruit (45 mins)
• Take R40 North to White River (passing straight through Rocky Drift).
• In White River, at the first set of traffic lights in the town itself (with White River Toyota ahead of you), turn left, following signs to Hazyview and Wildtuin/Kruger National Park.
• At the next traffic light, turn right - with the School Grounds on your left.
• Cross over the next set of traffic lights and then at the final set, with a Caltex garage on your right, turn left on the R40 for Hazyview.
• Continue on this road for about 45km, when you will come to a T-junction.
• Turn left to Hazyview and travel a further 2km, to the second set of Lights.
• Turn Right into Portia Shabangu Rd towards Kruger Gate.
• Continue straight over first stop intersection, Shopping Centre on your right hand side
• You will pass Kruger Park Lodge (KPL) on your left hand side
• After KPL at the 4 Way Crossing turn left into Albatross Street
• Continue along Albatross past the Video Shop and Bush Burgers Take Away
• Turn Right at Stop Sign at the end of Albatross into Tarentaal Road
• Turn Left into Eagle Street
• Turn left into the second road, Blue Jay Lane.
• We are 100m from the corner on the Left.
