Malutizicht is situated on a 540Ha farm in the picturesque Eastern Free State midway between the towns of Ficksburg and Fouriesburg on the R26. The town of Clarens is 60km away via the R711. The farmhouse at Malutizicht was built with sandstone in 1917; the double storey cottage of more modern design was built in the 1980s. Both have a magnificent view of the Maluti Mountains, hence the name Malutizicht.

Malutizicht Lodge Accommodation

Both buildings have been recently renovated and are well appointed and equipped with separate lounge, dining room and kitchen. Both lounges have open fire places for the colder winter months. The farmhouse sleeps 10 people with 2 double and 3 twin bed rooms, all rooms are en-suite. The cottage sleeps 8 people with 2 double and 2 twin bed rooms, all rooms are en-suite. All bedrooms are equipped with bed linen and towels. Electric heating is available in the bedrooms for the winter. The two houses are connected by means of a heated swimming pool and entertainment/pub area where you can enjoy a game of darts and a refreshing swim. The accommodation is strictly self catering but the houses are serviced, including washing of dishes, on a daily basis. Weber and open braai facilities are available for both houses. Wood is supplied for open fires in lounges and braai.

How To Get To Malutizicht Lodge

From Johannesburg:
3.5 hour drive via the N3 to the Villiers toll plaza, Frankfort, Reitz and Bethlehem. Follow the R26 all the way. Alternatively down the N1 to Kroonstad, Steynsrus, Senekal and Rosendal.
From Bloemfontein:
2.5 hours away via the N8 to Thaba Nchu, Ladybrand, Clocolan and Ficksburg.
From Durban:
4.5 hours via Winterton, Golden Gate and Qwa Qwa or via Harrismith, Bethlehem, Fouriesburg.
