The Moorings Lodge is situated on the shores of Wagendrift dam, just outside the small town of Estcourt, and has panoramic views of the dam and adjoining hills. The lodge consists of two fully furnished and self-catering chalets which each sleep six. Access for guests is exclusively obtained by boat, giving you the privacy and that perfect getaway you’ve been looking for. Wagendrift dam is a well maintained and clean dam and offers the
ideal time away for families who enjoy fishing, water-sports, birding
and the general peaceful outdoors. Swim in the dam,learn to ski,
enjoy a sunset cruise, or simply enjoy your surroundings from your
chalet’s verandah. If relaxation and peace and quiet is what

Moorings Lodge Accommodation
Self-Catering Chalet
Two spacious freestanding suites are available, each privately positioned
on the banks of Wagendrift dam.
These homely suites each sleep six and comes fully furnished.
Each suite offers a cosy living area with an open plan kitchen and a lovely
verandah boasting beautiful sunset views over the dam.
The main bedroom and en-suite bathroom are situated downstairs and the
open plan upstairs bedroom loft sleeps 4 and has it’s own bathroom.

WAGENSDRIFT DAM
Wagendrift dam is situated just outside Estcourt and forms part of a 3000
hectare conservancy including Moor Park, which surrounds the dam. While
boating and fishing are the main activities to Wagendrift Dam, the area
offers a variety of adventure and activities such as birding, hiking,
river rafting and historical site seeing.
THE BUSHMAN'S RIVER
The Bushman's River offers trout fishing and hiking trails, where one
could enjoying viewing game such as Zebra or Wilderbeest while on their
adventure. Birdlife in the area include the likes of the Fish Eagle and
Black Eagle amongst many other species. For the fishing fans, fish commonly
found in the dam range from Bass to Barble, Carp and Yellow Fish.
Since Wagendrift Dam offers such a great environment to water sportsmen,
we encourage you to make the most of it! With Wagendrift's vast water
coverage, along with the use of our ski boat and driver, you can learn
how to water ski, take a spin on the tube (which requires no skill) or
just enjoy the thrill of the ride. All this at the cost of a boat session!
This service is ideal for those enthusiasts who perhaps don't own a boat
or don't have the energy or budget for towing their own boat on holiday
with them
Directions to moorings lodge
From Johannesburg
Take the N3 towards Durban.
Take the Estcourt/Wembezi/Giants Castle offramp (Offramp 175) and turn
left towards Estcourt.
Continue for about 1km, looking out for the Wagendrift Dam turn off.
Turn Right into Wagendrift Dam and continue down until you reach the boom
gate.
From Durban
Take the N3 towards Johannesburg.
Take the Estcourt/Wembezi/Giants Castle offramp (Offramp 175) and turn
right towards Estcourt.
Continue for about 1km, looking out for the Wagendrift Dam turn off.
Turn right into Wagendrift Dam and continue down until you reach the boom
gate.
