Mike and Jenny Barber invite you to stay in their home away from home set in peaceful surroundings in central Durban North.
For Business we are 10 minutes from Umhlanga and La Lucia Ridge, the International Conference Centre and the City Centre and less than half an hour from Durban International Airport

Duikerfontein Bed and Breakfast Accommodation

We have five air-conditioned rooms each with showers en suite, TV, WiFi, bar fridge and tea / coffee facilities.
Secure Parking; Swimming Pool and Braai facilities are available for guests. There is a choice between Full English or Continental Breakfast.
Two of the rooms in an outside cottage open onto a common patio. They have open plan kitchenettes built in for self-catering purposes.
The other three rooms in a wing of the main house have their own entrances and can be combined into a family suite. They have access to a patio next to the pool and are equipped with fridges and microwaves.

Duikerfontein Bed and Breakfast Facilities

For leisure we are conveniently close to the Gateway Theatre of Shopping with its cinema complex, climbing wall, wave pool and entertainment area as well as the Suncoast and Sibaya casinos.
As for the famed KwaZulu Natal Beaches we have Umhlanga or the Golden Mile on our doorstep with Umhloti and Ballito a short drive away.
For the nature lover there are trails at the Hawaan Lagoon at Umhlanga or the nearby Virginia Bush Nature Reserve as well as an informative visit to the Natal Sharks Board.

For the sports lover there are four golf courses within ten minutes with another three half an hour away. Parkhill and Northlands Bowling greens are within walking distance and a tennis club just around the corner.
Kings Park Soccer Stadium, the Absa Rugby Stadium home of the Natal Sharks and Kingsmead Cricket Stadium are all very close.
Sight seeing tours can be arranged to the Umfolosi Game reserve to see one of the Big Five or a trip to one nearby can be combined with a visit to an African Cultural Village.

If the timing is right why not chase the Sardines during the annual Sardine Run or you will find us on the M12, which is also a bus route to the City and Umhlanga Rocks, within easy distance of all facilities.
A varied selection of restaurants and takeaways are in the immediate area. catch a boat at Umhlanga and ride with the dolphins.

How To Get To Duikerfontein Bed and Breakfast

From the King Shaka Airport
Travelling South on the N2 you get the intersections at Umhloti (M27) and then to Gateway (M41) . After that take Exit 177 , Kwa Mashu Highway R102 (M25).
Turn left from the intersection and then turn left at the second traffic light into Rinaldo Road. (About 500 metres just after Brick City). Take the third right into Longwoods Drive.
At the top of the hill turn right at the traffic light into Umhlanga Rocks Drive. Number 135 is about 500 metres from there at the bottom of the hill on the right hand side.

From the N3
Just after the PAVILION SHOPPING CENTRE at Spaghetti Junction take the N2 North (Stanger) off ramp. Follow the N2 Directions.

From the City (M12)
The M12 starts at the corner of Old Fort Road and NMR Avenue at the Kingsmead Cricket Ground. Follow it north for about 11 kms.
It passes Kings Park Swimming pool , the rugby and Soccer stadia before crossing the Umgeni River. It then becomes Northway, which eventually swings left over the hill to a traffic light with a Chinese Take Away on the corner (The Red Dragon).
The M12 swings right into Umhlanga Rocks Drive at this point and we are about 500 metres up the road on the Left hand Side. Number 135. You will see our dark blue sign with yellow writing.
