Situated four kilometres outside of Clarens, this cottage is close to the town, and a short drive on a gravel road makes sedan access possible.
Originally set up as a base for early police officials to control the cannibal tribe that lived in the area at the time, this building is still standing with its original material and has all its original attributes.

There are various famous and historical sites in the area, as well as the Clarens Golf course situated within 3 kilometres and the Golden Gate national park within twenty five kilometres.

The self catering cottage accommodates 4 guests in 2 bedrooms equipped with either queen beds and / or single beds, bath only, fully equipped kitchen, private garden, braai / barbeque facilities, fans, heater and a fireplace.
Linen and towels are provided, smoking in the rooms is prohibited and the cottage enjoys stunning views of the mountains and the garden.

How To Get To Police Station Cottages

From Bloemfontein
Follow the N1 to Winburg and turn right onto the N5 to Bethlehem. Drive straight through Bethlehem and turn right onto Durban road / N5. About 5 km out of Bethlehem, turn right onto the Clarens / Golden Gate / R712. Travel for about 35 km to Clarens.
Pass Clarens, about 100 m further, look out for a sign reading Fouriesburg / R711 then turn right. Travel 4.3 km on the R711 and then turn left at the sandstone entrance gate with the sign Clifton. Follow the dirt road to the end and you will see the main house.

From Durban
Follow the N3 to Harrismith, follow the N5 to Kestell, then to Bethlehem. Before Bethlehem, look out for the Clarens / Golden Gate / R712 turn-off and turn left. Travel for about 35 km to Clarens and pass the town.
About 100 m further, look out for a sign reading Fouriesburg / R711 and turn right. Travel 4.3 km on the R711, then turn left at the sandstone entrance gate with the sign Clifton. Follow the dirt road to the end and you will see the main house.

From Johannesburg
Take the N3 Heidelburg / Durban road. Directly after crossing the Vaal River, take the slip-way to the left, which puts you onto the R26, turn right to cross the bridge over the N3 and follow the R26 to Frankfort. Just before Frankfort, turn right at the T-junction.
Pass Frankfort, and cross the Wilge River. About 300 m further, watch for a sign that reads Reitz / Tweeling, and turn left. Follow the R26 passed Tweeling and passed Reitz. Drive straight through Bethlehem on the Durban road / N5.

About 5 km out of Bethlehem, turn right onto the Clarens / Golden Gate Road / R712, travel for about 35 km to Clarens then pass Clarens. About 100m further, look out for a sign reading Fouriesburg / R711 and turn right.
