Experience an explosion of space, colour and amazing views. Amaluti, named for its superb position overlooking the golf course, willow dam and rolling hills to the distant Maluti Mountains, has the wow factor in every sense.

The lodge is luxurious, the ambience is special. Trees shield it from the village and it is both peaceful and relaxing.
The open plan design, elegant décor and unique frameless glass walls all enhance the stunning views by bringing the outside in.

Situated in the best part of the Clarens Golf and Trout Estate Amaluti is an easy three hour drive from Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg and Bloemfontein, or four from Durban.

Amaluti Accommodation

Amaluti can be leased in different ways
• The whole house, sleeping up to 8 adults and 4 children (or 10 adults)
• The upper level sleeping up to 4 adults and 4 children (or 6 adults)
• The lower level sleeping up to 4 adults

There are four double en suite bedrooms; two upstairs and two down, each with its own colour scheme. The rooms have either king-size double beds or twin beds.
All have luxurious linen, superbly comfortable mattresses, masses of super soft pillows, down duvets, electric blankets and under-floor heating to ensure a good night’s rest in even the coldest weather.

The bathrooms, ‘open plan’ behind the bedrooms, are screened by the bed head walls, which also house the generous built-in cupboards.
They have luxury fittings, a glass shower, a floating basin and matching ‘Perfekt’ bath, which can accommodate two good friends at a time. Charlotte Rhys toiletries, luxurious cotton bath sheets and twin dressing gowns complete the ensemble.

Amaluti Facilities

The loft upstairs is the ‘Quarterdeck’ for children where they can be on their own but ‘at hand’ for supervision. They have two three quarter beds, a double sofa bed and their own shower and basin with toilet.

The open plan kitchen on the upper level is spacious and fitted with all that a chef could want, including gas hob, electric oven, microwave, a wine chiller, frost free deep freeze and fridge, dishwasher and H2O water filter. The serving counter gives ready access to the dining table that can seat twelve. Adjacent is the bar unit.

The living area is uncluttered, with one seating area around the gas fireplace and TV (with DSTV and PVR) and another in front of the folding glass wall, that brings the outside in and the inside out, providing spectacular, uninterrupted views. Outside is a separate patio with verandah furniture and gas braai.

Downstairs, as well as two bedrooms, has a mini kitchen, sitting area, TV and gas braai. It has walk-through folding glass doors, which open directly onto the garden and commonage adjacent to the golf course. It is a short walk down to the 14th green and willow dotted trout dam.

There is a double garage and covered parking for four cars.

Amaluti is serviced daily from 8am to 4pm by helpful and efficient Anna Mlangeni or Jeanette Miya who clean and make beds but do not cook. (On Sundays they go off at 2pm.)

How To Get To Amaluti

From Johannesburg
Take the N3 towards Durban, pass the turn-off to Vereeniging / Villiers then pass the Engen One Stop. Take the Villiers (South) and Frankfort (Exit 169) Off-ramp.
Turn right to cross over the N3 following signs to Frankfort R26. From here to the Reitz turn off beware of potholes, especially after rain, at the T-junction just before Frankfort turn right onto the R34. Pass Frankfort and cross the Wilge River.

About 300m further, turn left, back onto the R26, and follow the sign Reitz / Bethlehem. Pass turn-offs to Tweeling and Reitz and continue straight on to Bethlehem. Drive straight through Bethlehem on the N5, the road to Durban and do not turn left or right.
5 kilometres past Bethlehem turn right to Clarens on the R712. After about 30ks you go through a ‘Nek’ and will see the Golf Course on your left and Clarens village on your right.

You can see our house as you come down the hill into Clarens. Amaluti is the first double story house on the edge of the Golf Course and has huge glass windows. Pass the turn off to the village - and the next turn off to the right, to Fouriesburg.
Then turn Left into ‘The Clarens Golf and Trout Estate’ (big entrance clearly marked). You will be required to fill in a security form – you are staying at House number 90. Proceed through the security gate keeping left, round the circle, and straight up the road past the sales office.

Watch out for the Speed Dips, they are lethal! Take the second road to the left. When you reach a T junction – turn left down the hill. At the bottom of this road is another T junction – turn right, follow the road which now runs parallel to the golf course.
Watch out for another Speed Dip, about 200 metres further on turn left – again following the Golf Course.
Amaluti is the 6th house on the left – there is a sandstone marker with a brass AMALUTI and the stand number – 90. It can also be recognized by the carport which is built down from the road rather than at road level.
