Situated on the crest of Botha’s Hill, on the edge of the Valley of 1000 Hills, is uniquely positioned for the convenience of being close to Hillcrest, with all its shops, restaurants and other amenities, and the restfulness of being in the countryside.

Eagle Wind Manor is only 30 min from Durban or Pietermaritzburg, with easy access to the M13 and N3 highways.
Being over 800m above sea level, the area escapes the humidity of the coast in summer and is known for the freshest breath of air in South Africa.

Eagle Wind Manor Guest House Accommodation

With five up-market double bedrooms, we can accommodate 12 guests, with the executive suite large enough to accommodate a family.
Elegantly furnished and luxuriously appointed, the rooms offer exquisite décor, with superb en suite bathrooms. Our great service and attention to detail includes offering all the little luxuries one would expect from a top-grade establishment.

The sheer luxury of sinking into our top-of-the-range Simmons beds, with the finest quality 350 thread-count bed linen and goose-down duvets and pillows, will make you want to come back again and again – just for the joy of a wonderful night’s sleep.

All rooms are equipped with a TV, with a bouquet of selected DSTV channels, including M-Net, Movie Magic 1 and 2, M-Net Series, the SuperSport channels, Discovery and CNN.
Tea and coffee making facilities include a coffee machine for freshly-made filter coffee and a selection of fine quality teas and other hot beverages.

The main house offers a large, comfy lounge with seating arranged in such a way that it facilitates private conversation as well as accommodating larger groups - perfect for discreet business meetings, armchair seminars or just quiet relaxation.
The lounge has a beautiful fireplace for cold winter nights, and is equipped with a big screen TV. An antique piano, books and board games are available for guests to enjoy

A sumptuous breakfast buffet and/or full English breakfast is served in the dining room, or you may choose to enjoy your meal on the patio overlooking the garden.

Take time to wander around our beautiful, substantial, treed garden, with its abundance of bird-life. For the more energetic, you can dive into our sparkling 12-metre long pool, great for swimming laps - or simply relax on a pool lounger on the pool patio.

On the brink of our doorstep lies the breathtaking Valley of 1000 Hills, filled with fascinating craft markets and interesting tourist attractions.
The house is ideally situated for those interested in visiting the many attractions associated with the “1000 Hills Experience”, such as a Zulu village, Game Parks and, further inland, the Midlands Meander.

For those wishing to visit places further afield, there are many attractions in the greater Durban/eThekwini area and KwaZulu-Natal which are within easy reach, such as the beautiful beaches, fascinating Dive Sites, the Sharks Board, uShaka Marine World, and many others.

The Pavilion Shopping Mall is a mere 20 minutes' drive away, with Umhlanga's famous Gateway Theatre of Shopping about 40 minutes away. The Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom is also within reach.
The Guest House is only a few minutes’ walk to the closest restaurants, bar and coffee shops. It is a 5-minute drive to the business centre of Hillcrest, with its strong retail centres and famous restaurants, quaint coffee shops, craft markets and family entertainment.

The House is 200 metres from the gates of Kearsney College and is thus an ideal place to stay if attending events at the school.

How To Get To Eagle Wind Manor Guest House

From Durban International Airport:
Take the N2 northbound towards Durban. Take the N3 toll road to Pietermaritzburg. See further directions immediately below, under “From the N3, travelling inland from Durban”.

From the N3, travelling inland from Durban:
Take the Hillcrest / Shongweni / Assagay off ramp (Exit 32). Turn right over the freeway into Kassier Road. Proceed until you get to the T-junction with traffic lights, at Old Main Road.
Turn left and go up Botha’s Hill.


Near the crest of the hill pass Tapas Restaurant, in the Fainting Goat Centre, on the left, and go on a couple of hundred metres till you come to Eagle Wind Manor on the left hand side, clearly marked as number 15.

From the M13, travelling inland from Pinetown:
Take the Hillcrest off ramp and turn right onto Old Main Road. Travel through the centre of Hillcrest, until you reach the other side, where you will go downhill towards some traffic lights.


Travel straight on, and up Botha’s Hill. Near the crest of the hill pass Tapas Restaurant, in the Fainting Goat Centre, on the left, and go on a couple of hundred metres till you come to Eagle Wind Manor on the left hand side, clearly marked as number 15.

From the N3, travelling towards the coast from Pietermaritzburg:
Take the Hillcrest / Shongweni / Assagay off ramp (Exit 32). Turn left into Kassier Road. Proceed until you get to the T-junction with traffic lights, at Old Main Road.
Turn left and go up Botha’s Hill. Near the crest of the hill pass Tapas Restaurant, in the Fainting Goat Centre, on the left, and go on a couple of hundred metres till you come to Eagle Wind Manor on the left hand side, clearly marked as number 15.

From the Alternative route, the M13, travelling towards the coast from Pietermaritzburg:
From the N3, take the Hillcrest glide (Alternative Durban route) onto the M13. Very soon after, take the Shongweni/Assagay off ramp
At the T-junction at the bottom of the off ramp, turn left into Kassier Road. Proceed until you get to the T-junction with traffic lights, at Old Main Road.
Turn left and go up Botha’s Hill. Near the crest of the hill pass Tapas Restaurant, in the Fainting Goat Centre, on the left, and go on a couple of hundred metres till you come to Eagle Wind Manor on the left hand side, clearly marked as number 15.
