Makhato 1
Escape to the bush at Makhato 1. Only 150 km's from Johannesburg. Spacious open plan living area with flat screen TV and full DSTV and a fully equipped kitchen including breakfast nook and scullery. Big covered veranda with table and chairs.
Large main bedroom has a queen bed and en-suite bathroom with corner bath, shower, toilet and his/hers basins.
Second bedroom has 2 single beds. Third bedroom has a queen bed.

All bedrooms have ceiling fans and heaters and sliding doors opening onto veranda's with views of the bush.
Second and third bedrooms share bathroom with shower and bath. Upstairs loft has 2 sleeper couches and opens to viewing deck.
Outside boma with braai where you can enjoy your evenings sitting around a big boma fire. Walking distance to Makhato pool area with heated and cold pools.

Makhato 5
Within 2 minutes walk of the Makhato Phase 1 pool and entertainment area the grounds around this house have been planted to include a variety of indigenous trees; there is a waterhole at the rear by the boma. There is undercover parking for 3 vehicles.
On the ground floor there is a large open plan kitchen and lounge with DSTV;main bedroom and one twin bedroom, both with quality fitted en suite bathrooms and A. C. in the main bedroom.
Upstairs is a further double bedroom and large entertainment area with DSTV, braai,bar and pool table. The deck has uninterrupted views to the Waterberg.

Makhato 6
This is a big house. Open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen with separate scullery. Guest Toilet. Room one has twin beds, room two a double bed, these rooms share a bathroom with shower, bath and basin.
Second set of rooms also share a bathroom with shower, bath and basin. Room one has twin beds and room two a double bed. 2nd lounge upstairs with a flat screen television and a balcony. Large outside boma and undercover lapa.

Makhato 7
This is a big house. Open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen with separate scullery. Guest Toilet. Room one has twin beds, room two a double bed, these rooms share a bathroom with shower, bath and basin. Second set of rooms also share a bathroom with shower, bath and basin.
Room one has twin beds and room two a double bed. 2nd lounge upstairs with a flat screen television and a balcony. Large outside boma and undercover lapa.

Makhato 9
On bottom level of the house there are two twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms (shower, bath and twin basins) There is an open plan large kitchen and lounge with DSTV.
Upstairs is the main bedroom with en-suite bathroom (shower only) There are fans in all the rooms. Large entertainment area with braai and bar. Boma outside and undercover parking for 3 vehicles.

Makhato 11
Makhato 11 - "Ikhaya Bongracz" - loosely translated as "house of champagne grass" Ideal for the busy executive wishing to get away from the stresses of business - just a short 1 ½ hours drive from Johannesburg, Ikhaya Bongracz provides a warm, peaceful environment in which to relax.
3 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, built-in cupboards, and dressing tables, overlook the grassy plains - frequent visitors include giraffe, zebra, kudu and nyala. The main bedroom has a king-size bed with a shower, bath, separate toilet, and outside shower.

The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with en-suite shower and separate toilet, whilst the third bedroom has two single beds with an en-suite bath and separate toilet. Each bedroom opens out to the outside area.
The spacious double-volume lounge, dining room and fully-fitted kitchen is open-plan, and the lounge opens out to the covered braai area and the outside boma with fire-pit.
There are two upstairs decks - one for sunrise, and the other for sunset, as well as a separate upstairs executive lounge and boardroom table. Ikhaya Bongracz is not suitable for children under 16.

Makhato 13
Open plan kitchen, dinning room and lounge. On the bottom level there is one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (only bath). Room 2 twin beds with en-suite bathroom (bath only) doubles up as the guest bathroom by locking interleading door. Loft has 2 x bunk beds.

Makhato 17

This house is suitable to accommodate 8 persons sharing - 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. Main bedroom has a queen bed & full en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and shares a bathroom with the third bedroom. The third bedroom also has 2 single beds.
The loft upstairs has a combination lounge / en-suite queen bedroom with a outside balcony. The house also has a big veranda with a undercover built-in braai, small boma which is partially enclosed and undercover parking for 2 vehicles

Makhato 29
Large 8 sleeper house, beautiful open plan kitchen and dining area, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and large paved carport. Special features include a boma and patio with build-in braai, as well as spacious lounge with Plasma TV and build-in fire place.
Room one has a queen size bed with en suite bathroom, ball and claw bath, double wash basin and outside shower. Room two has a queen size bed with en-suite bathroom, corner bath, double wash basins and large shower. Room three has twin beds with separate bathroom.

Room four is a spacious loft room with twin beds and also uses the same bathroom as room three. Rooms one to three have doors leading to the outside onto the paved area around the house. There is also a watering hole for animals at the house.

Makhato 33

Makhato 37
"ISIQUZI" (Veld Lizard) Spacious comfortable well-appointed bush lodge is ideal for a relaxed getaway with your family or friends. The open plan living area consists of large lounge / dining room, opening onto the under-cover patio with built-in braai. For sunsets and "under the stars" evenings, the boma area also has a built-in braai and central fire-pit. For the more adventurous, there is an outside shower next to the boma.

This is an 8 sleeper house - 3 bedrooms with private bathrooms and 1 bedroom ideal for children or teenagers (L-shaped bunk beds). The main bedroom has large windows / sliding doors, offering you wonderful views of the bush from the queen sized bed.
The en-suite bathroom with large shower & double wash basins has a free standing bath placed at a corner window so again offers a view of the bush while you relax in your bath.

The second bedroom also has a queen sized bed and plenty of windows. The en-suite full bathroom is particularly spacious in order to allow for guests in wheelchairs.
The views of the bush from the corner bath are quite a treat. The third bedroom is spacious with two three quarter beds and the connecting bathroom has a large shower.
The fourth bedroom, situated next to the main bedroom, is great for children or teenagers and there is also amble space for a camp cot. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwave, large fridge / freezer and a dishwashing machine in the scullery.

Makhato 40

Makhato 67
This lovely 3 bedroom home is stylishly furnished and beautifully appointed. It comprises a large kitchen with elegant marble tops, a breakfast bar with separate scullery leading onto the courtyard area. The lounge is comfortable with TV and two sets of sliding doors that open onto the patio and outside boma and braai area.

The large main bedroom has a lovely en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and very large outside shower. Two guest bedrooms are available. The first guestroom is equipped with a queen size bed and has its own private patio. The second guest room has twin beds.
These two rooms have the use of a spacious bathroom with shower and bath. Upstairs is a loft furnished with an array of couches and lounge chairs, leading onto a private viewing deck overlooking the boma area and watering hole.

This is a large house. Kitchen finished off with blue-gum wood. Separate scullery. Lounge and dining room opens to the outdoors and leads onto an enclosed boma with built-in braai.

Makhato 86
A single storey thatched roof lodge. The lodge consists of 3 bedrooms, two en-suite bedrooms both with a queen size bed and one bedroom with 2 single beds. There is also a loft with two single beds.
The lodge can accommodate maximum 8 people / 6 private. Each bedroom has a wall panel heater and ceiling fan. There are 3 bathrooms, two with baths and one with a shower. There is also an outside shower with hot and cold water.

There is an open plan living area with leather couches and a 42" TV with the DSTV bouquet channels. The dining room table seats 8 people and is next to the fully equipped kitchen.
Ceiling fans are strategically placed throughout the open area. A breakfast nook separates the kitchen from the dining room. In the scullery you'll find a fridge / freezer and a large pantry cupboard for your convenience.

All the windows and sliding doors are fitted with fly screens. There is a built-in braai on the patio and is suitable for the sunny bushveld days as well as rainy days. Whatever the weather, you will be able to enjoy your braai! In the evenings you can make a big boma fire at the outside boma that is also equipped with a separate braai.

Makhato 96
Ideal getaway - just 1½ hour drive from Johannesburg. 8 sleeper house with wall heaters and ceiling fans. 2 of the bedrooms are equipped with 2 single beds with an en-suite shower / toilet / basin. 2 Bedrooms are also equipped with queen size beds with an en-suite bath / shower / toilet and twin basins.

The house has an open plan reception area with a fully equipped kitchen area with a pantry and guest toilet. There are stairs up to the TV room with Dstv and a large covered verandah / entertainment area with a built in braai having a good view of the reserve which has amongst other animals, nyala, zebra, giraffe and kudu.

There is a partially enclosed boma and undercover parking for two cars plus space for trailers. The television is on the 1st floor with a private balcony.

Makhato 97

This beautiful up-market private house is large and secluded so to enhance your bushveld stay. The open-plan kitchen cum dining room area leads into the spacious lounge, comprising of a fire-place and flat screen DSTV
A separate scullery with a washing machine, tumble dried and large twin fridge freezer will make your stay even more pleasant.

The spacious main bedroom with its queen size bed, boast of an air-con and an en-suite bathroom, his/her basins, enclosed toilet, walk-in closet and sliding door which opens onto a private patio area. The second and 3rd bedrooms with each 2-single beds, have their own spacious bathrooms, with a shower and enclosed toilet each.

Moselesele
The Moselesele Tent Camp offers an up-market safari experience at affordable prices where guests will be spoiled from the time of their arrival to their departure by the Camp Host and Chef, who is available to prepare all their meals. Sondela has long been a popular conferencing destination. The Sondela Hall offers a relaxed setting, and can comfortably seat up to 100 delegates. Equipment includes data projectors, white boards, flip charts and stationery. For an intimate boardroom setting, the Sondela Country House is ideal for up to 16 delegates.

How To Get To Sondela Nature Reserve

From Johannesburg / Pretoria take the Polokwane N1, Continue on the N1 past the Carousel. Take the exit off-ramp Bela Bela / Settlers exit 238 from the N1.
Turn right, across the highway and continue for 1.5 km on this road towards Settlers. Our main gate will be on the left-hand side of the road.

From Polokwane take the N1 South to Pretoria / Gauteng. The N1 is a toll road. Continue on the N1 past the Kranskop Toll Plaza.
Take the Bela Bela / Settlers off ramp, exit no 238, from the N1. Turn left and continue for 1.5 km on this road towards Settlers. Our Main Gate will be on the left and side of the road.
