Shakama Private Game Lodge Accommodation

The lodgings at Shakama include twelve suites, of which two are located in the main building and eight pairs nestled against a slope overlooking the valley.
Six of these chalet suites also have outdoor showers in addition to the en-suite bathrooms. High up, on the top of the hill the newly renovated self-catering camp, Eagles Camp, is located.
Eagles can sleep up to eight people and is only rented out as a unit on either a self-catering or accommodation only basis. The self-catering camp consists of two en-suite "split level" cottages, the communal kitchen and lapa, complete the circle.

All suites have private decks overlooking a ravine of unspoilt nature. Fine linen, tasteful interior decoration inspired by the natural environment and high thatched ceilings, all combine to create a feeling of comfort and bliss.
Please note: Due to the slopes on which chalets were built, stairs between different floor levels may not make the accommodation suitable for physically handicapped persons.

The Lion and giraffe suites are located within the main lodge building. Each suite has its own private veranda overlooking the valley.
To ensure luxury and ultimate comfort, both suites are equipped with king size beds, baths & showers, air conditioning, mini bars and tea/coffee stations.

Eight chalet suites are carved against a slope overlooking the valley, surrounding the main building in pairs of two. Each suite is immersed in nature, ensuring total privacy and unspoilt views from the private verandas.

All suites have air conditioning, mini bars and tea/coffee stations, either a king size bed or twin single beds and en-suite bathrooms. In addition to the en-suite bathrooms the chalet suites; Zebra 1&2, Elephant 1&2, and Leopard 1&2 each has its own outdoor shower.

A sauna and Jacuzzi complete the spa experience and, of course, all therapies are done amidst the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature.

The Mountain camp, Eagles Camp consists of two en-suite "split level" cottages. Each cottage can accommodate three to four people, with a king size bed on the upper level with either a single bed (Eagles 1) or twin beds (Eagles 2) at the bottom.
There is a fully equipped communal kitchen and lapa, with a vista of the majestic Waterberg Mountains and horizons of unspoilt nature.

Every evening a boma fire is prepared, and extra firewood supplied for the rekindling of the fire and of old friendships. The camp is serviced daily, and all linen and towels are provided.
All cottages have Verandas, King size bed on open loft & twin beds on ground floor, Bathroom, Outdoor showers, Fully equipped communal kitchen, All linen and towels.

If business is top of mind, the Induna room is a fully-fledged conference or seminar facility, replete with state-of-the-art media equipment.
Twenty-four delegates can be comfortably accommodated here, and the Wine Cellar can seat an additional 10 people in air-conditioned privacy.
There are also seating areas for the enjoyment of break-away groups. Shakama excels at hosting executive level conference and meetings.

Wine Cellar Boardroom
Tucked away under the main lodge building, the wine cellar is the perfect conference breakaway area, or venue for small meetings of eight to ten delegates. Come converse surrounded by a collection of South Africa’s finest wines.

Induna Room
The Induna room offers the ideal setting for boardroom style meetings or class room style seminars with white boards, overhead projector, screens, TV and DVD machine. This conference room offers comfortable seating for up to 30 delegates.

Breakaway Areas
For brainstorming sessions and group discussions, there are several breakaway areas available for conference delegates. Use one of the four informal lounges in the lodge building, or alternatively meet on the veranda, and let the sight of nature.
Literal head to toe pampering provides pure pleasure at the Shakama Wellness Centre. Here, guests can enjoy relaxation and rejuvenation therapies for the whole body - face and feet included.
There is also an extensive menu of touch therapies, all offered by experienced therapists to ensure complete restoration of body and mind.

Elephant Safaris

You can experience close up interaction with these magnificent mammals, and even ride one of them through the awe-inspiring Waterberg bushveld.

Warning: Visitors driving to the farm must be prepared to drive 19km of dirt road to reach the lodge. Some areas of this road may not be suitable for low-profile / sport vehicles. Any visitors driving in cars should drive slowly and with caution to ensure a safe and trouble-free journey.
