This luxury hotel consists of 83 exquisitely appointed luxury suites, linked by short landscaped pathways to the nearby main building and accessed by foot or battery-operated golf carts.

All suites maximise the spectacular views of the Knysna Lagoon or Indian Ocean and the Pezula Championship Golf Course, and are decorated in contemporary African style, with warm earth tones predominating.

In this boutique hotel all suites are utterly indulgent, completely private and exude a sense of luxury and comfort from the real log fireplaces to the under floor heating in the bathrooms.

Luxury Hotel Accommodation Studio Suites:
Studio Suites are a generous 58m² (624 square feet) including en suite bathrooms and are available with twin or king-size beds.
A comfortable seating area has a real log fireplace, ottoman, desk, leather easy chair, daybed and small dining table and chairs.
There are 56 Studio Suites in free-standing two-tiered villas (four to a villa).
Upstairs suites have private balconies and ground floor suites lead to secluded outdoor patios all with panoramic views of the Knysna Lagoon or the Indian Ocean across the golf course.

A ground-floor Studio Suite has been designed and equipped to accommodate paraplegic guests.
Interleading Studio Suites are also available to families.

Villa Suites are a generous 68m² (732 square feet) including en suite bathrooms and are available with twin or king-size beds.
A comfortable seating area has a real log fireplace, ottoman, desk, leather easy chair, daybed and small dining table and chairs.

There are 20 Villa Suites in free-standing two-tiered villas (four to a villa). Upstairs suites have private balconies and ground floor suites lead to secluded outdoor patios all with panoramic views of the Pezula Championship Course or the Indian Ocean.

Suites have facilities to accommodate one child under 12 years travelling with an adult, on a fold-away bed. Infant cots can be provided at no additional cost and child minders are available. Interleading suites cater for families.

Kufara and Mufaro are Pezula's ultra luxurious and spacious Presidential Suites. Each suite is 137m² (1 475 square feet) in size and boasts a generous bedroom, king-size bed and seating area, reception area, guest toilet, separate lounge and dining area, real log fireplaces in the bedroom and lounge and a well-equipped kitchen.

Ground floor Mufaro has private patios off the bedroom and lounge and upstairs Kufara has two private balconies. Both have breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and Pezula Championship Course.

The closest national airport to Pezula is George Airport, an hour's scenic drive along the coastline. Port Elizabeth Airport is two and a half hours by car.

· OR Tambo International Airport to Port Elizabeth Airport (1 hour 45 minutes)
· Cape Town International Airport to George Airport (30 minutes)

Charters:
· Helicopter transfers from George Airport to Pezula (approx 25 minutes)
· Charter flights in an eight-seater Hawker jet can be arranged from anywhere in Africa to Plettenberg Bay Airport. It is a 20 minutes chauffeur drive from Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa.
· Plettenberg Bay Airport can also be used for guests who charter their own aircraft.
Pezula offers a luxury chauffeur service between Pezula and George, Port Elizabeth and Plettenberg Bay Airports, or can arrange car hire from any destination in South Africa.

BY ROAD:
Pezula is an easy, scenic drive from Port Elizabeth or Cape Town, with many stops along the way to refuel or enjoy a light meal. The route is along the N2 national highway.
Directions from Cape Town (±500 kms /311 miles)
· Take the N2 from Cape Town to Knysna passing Somerset West, Caledon, Swellendam, Albertinia, Mossel Bay and George.
· Continue along the main road through Knysna, past the Provincial Hospital on the left.
· After the Caltex Petrol Station on the right, turn right into George Rex Drive (road to Knysna Heads).
· Immediately after Knysna Golf Club, turn left into Wilson Street and right at the circle into Duthie Drive.
· Follow Duthie Drive up the hill to Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa (this is well sign-posted)
Directions from Port Elizabeth (±260 kms /162 miles)
· Take the N2 from Port Elizabeth to Knysna, passing Humansdorp, Storms River and Plettenberg Bay.
· As you drive into Knysna, turn left into George Rex Drive (road to Knysna Heads).
· Immediately after Knysna Golf Club, turn left into Wilson Street and right at the circle into Duthie Drive.
· Follow Duthie Drive up the hill to Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa (this is well sign-posted)

History:
Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa is the culmination of the vision of Pezula Group Chairman Keith Stewart whose dream was to create a luxury resort in one of the most exquisite locations in the world.

Born in the UK and raised in Zimbabwe, Stewart returned to Africa in the 1990s having made his mark in America. His love of Africa brought him to the Garden Route in 2000 where he bought the land he was to call Pezula, an African word meaning "high up with the gods", which he describes as "the most perfect place on earth."

The property is bordered by the rugged cliffs of the Southern Cape coast, the Sinclair Nature Reserve and the Eastern Head of Knysna. It has panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and Knysna Lagoon.

Stewart's primary goal was the restoration of the land. "For me the opportunity and, indeed, the responsibility to transform a landscape that had been exploited for over 100 years, and to rehabilitate the prime acreage of South Africa's coastline is both exhilarating and rewarding," he says.

He began by clearing 400 ha of alien vegetation and trees and obtained approval to develop an eco-friendly, low density private residential estate, Pezula Private Estate, which has been recognised as the Most Environmentally Aware Development in the World, and Best Luxury Development in the World.

He then purchased the adjacent Sparrebosch Golf Course, renamed it Pezula Championship Course and set about revamping the Clubhouse.

To complete the vision of a luxury resort, Stewart's next project was to build an opulent international five-star hotel on a site close to the Clubhouse. The hotel, which is surrounded by the golf course, has sweeping views of greens and fairways and beyond to the Indian Ocean, Knysna Lagoon and Outeniqua Mountains and has become synonymous with unparalleled luxury and personalised service.
