Knysna - the Beautiful Town - is ideally located on the Garden Route as you travel between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.

Their beautiful Cape Colonial guesthouse, located on the main road into Knysna and within walking distance of the centre of town and bustling Waterfront, offers stunning views of the picturesque Knysna Lagoon and the well known Knysna Heads.

Hide-Away Guest House is the ideal place to simply relax or from which to explore the many sights of Knysna and the scenic Garden Route.
Knysna is surrounded by a paradise of indigenous forests, mountains, lakes and spectacular beaches and nestles on the banks of a tranquil estuary.
Day trips can be taken to spectacular Tsitsikama National Park, Plettenberg Bay, Wilderness, George, Mossel Bay and Oudtshoorn.

We offer you a choice of comfortable and well appointed rooms.
The two Executive Rooms on the ground floor and the three Superior Rooms on the first floor offer impressive views of the Knysna Lagoon and Heads. Two additional Superior Rooms are located in the Main House.

All rooms have been tastefully furnished and have en-suite bathrooms with shower, TV, mini bar, tea/coffee tray, hairdryers, clock radios, fans, heaters, electric blankets (in winter) and gowns. Telephone services, wireless Internet and laundry facilities are available.

Scrumptious breakfasts are served on the verandah or in the dining room. You can also chill out around the swimming pool, sit on the verandah and sample some of South Africa's finest wines while watching the sun set or catch a glimpse of the elusive Knysna Loerie. And for the more energetic, a mini gym is also available.

2 Executive Rooms - Guest House:
Located on the ground floor with stunning views of the Lagoon and Heads, the rooms are large with a lounge area. One room offers a king-size bed and the other a queen-size bed. Both rooms have large bathrooms with showers only.
Air conditioning in these two rooms for added comfort.

3 Superior Rooms - Guest House:
Located on the first floor with stunning views of the Lagoon and Heads. Two rooms offer queen-size beds, while the third offers twin beds. Bathrooms are en-suite with showers only.

1 Superior Room - Main House:
Located in the Main House. With no lagoon view, this large room has a full en suite bathroom. Queen-size bed is offered.

1 Standard Room - Main House:
Located in the Main House. With no lagoon view, this is a comfortable room with en suite bathroom offering a shower only. Queen-size bed available.

Knysna:
The enchanting town of Knysna nestles on the shores of an estuary fed by rivers originating in the Outeniqua Mountains.
It is surrounded by lush indigenous forests and is cooled by a sea breeze from the Indian Ocean. This idyllic Western Cape town is not only renowned for its rich natural heritage, but is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts.

It boasts the largest canopy forest in Southern Africa, fine beaches and lakes, is the only home to forest elephants in South Africa and its fynbos vegetation contributes 8 000 plant species to the Cape floral kingdom.
It also provides the perfect base to explore the impressive Garden Route.

Coming from Cape Town/George
· N2 to Knysna from Cape Town
· On approaching Knysna, after the turn off to Brenton-on-Sea, you will cross a bridge over the lagoon (referred to as the “white bridge”). Travel approx. 7 kms, passing through 2 sets of traffic lights, i.e. intersections of N2 and Welbedacht Road and Old Cape Road respectively.
· After the N2/Old Cape Road main intersection, take second turning left into Albatross Street
· Turn immediately left after 1 (ONE) meter. Do NOT travel up Albatross Street. If you reach a T-Junction you have gone too far!
· Proceed along the service road parallel to N2 (must see the lagoon)
· Hide-Away Guest House is signposted.

Coming from Port Elizabeth
· N2 to Knysna from PE
· Drive through the town of Knysna.
· Look out for Total petrol station on the right. From the next traffic light (junction of Main Road & Waterfront Drive) take 3rd road on the right (Albatross Street)
· Turn left after 1 (ONE) meter. Do NOT travel up Albatross Street. If you reach a T-Junction you have gone too far!
· Proceed along the service road parallel to N2 (must see the lagoon)
· Hide-Away Guest House is signposted.

About Us:
Cecil and Colleen Harding, own and manage Hide-Away Guest House. They have both been in the airline/hospitality industry for many years and have lived and worked overseas as well as travelled extensively in South Africa.
They have tried to incorporate all the positive things they have accumulated in their travels in the product offering at Hide-Away and are continually looking at improvements and upgrades.

With their wealth of travel industry knowledge, they will be happy to make recommendations both locally and further a field within South Africa.
They have also established relationships with bed & breakfast properties from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and will assist you with planning your itinerary as you travel along the Garden Route.
