Badger's Lodge is a guesthouse in Knysna in
the heart of the Garden Route in South Africa. The Lagoon is separated from the sea by two sandstone cliffs, the

We offer comfortable accommodation in African style Rondavels (thatched
huts), set in a large tranquil garden.
All rooms are en-suite and are decorated in an African theme. Secure off
street parking is available to our guests.
Enjoy hearty breakfasts served in the thatched dining
room by the open fireplace or on the veranda. A private bar with TV is
available for the guests.There is also a garden timber cottage,
which offers 2 self catering, semi-detached units.
Each unit accommodates up to four people and consists of two bedrooms,
one bathroom with shower, kitchen, lounge and veranda with braai facilities.
We provide linen and towels as well as a daily service.
A chalet affords privacy and tranquility for two people - perfect
for honeymooners.
It has one bedroom, bathroom with shower and full bath, kitchen, lounge
and veranda with braai and is also fully equipped for self-catering.
A veranda and a sundeck with views over the lush valley and forest, are
the ideal places to spot abundant bird life, whilst the sparkling pool
invites you to relax and soak up the warm African sun.
Knysna is the ideal base from which to explore the Garden Route.
It offers many outdoor activities and adventure.
Beaches, lakes, rivers, forest and mountains, something to suit everyone.
From adventurous activities to unspoilt sandy beaches, walks through the
forest, cycling, horse riding, quad biking or scenic drives.
Knysna Elephant Park, Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, Elephant Sanctuary and Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre will be enjoyed by the whole family. Knysna is the ideal base from which to explore the Garden Route. It offers many outdoor activities and adventure.
Try some water sports such as canoeing, tubing, waterskiing, diving, fishing or whale watching.
Spend a day on one of our incredible golf courses with view over the lagoon and the mountains whilst you face the challenge.

The Tsitsikamma National park is only a one hour drive from Knysna.
Visit the Stormsriver Mouth with its famous suspension
bridge or take a walk along the rugged coastline and through the dense
forest on the legendary Otter Trail, which takes 5 days.
For the day visitor there are shorter walks and hikes.
Enjoy a day-trip into Ostrich Country to Oudtshoorn, which lies between
the magnificent Outeniqua and Swartberg Mountains.
Take a tour on one of the ostrich show farms or face the adventure in
the Cango Caves.
Near Port Elisabeth about 300 km from Knysna, is the Addo Elephant National
park, a malaria free game reserve, which is home to more than 400 elephants.
The park is situated in the Sunday River Valley that is also an important
citrus producing area.
Your hosts at Badger's Lodge are Katrin & Joachim
Heinen. Both of us born and grown up in Germany. On many trips we travelled
around Southern Africa and we fell in love with the people and their country.
In 2001 we moved to Knysna and started Badger's Lodge.
We love travelling through Southern Africa and are well equipped with
4x4 and off-road trailer. We have visited Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia,
Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique and many places in South Africa.
