Each of our spacious luxury guest suites is equipped to a high standard, offering all the modern comforts you’d expect - plus many thoughtful touches that make our accommodation special.

Our large, well-maintained garden is a haven for a wide variety of birds and features a salt-chlorinated pool, sun deck, lapa and delightful guest braai area.
Designed with comfort, freedom and privacy in mind, we offer a truly unique guest experience – perfect for extended stays and romantic getaways all year round.
Our studios are located on the ground floor, providing level access to the private guest car park. Each has its own furnished patio leading directly onto our manicured lawn, garden, pool and entertainment area.

Armadillo Studios Accommdoation

Studio 1 bed and breakfast or room only:
Designed for 2 adults, Studio 1 is ideal for honeymoons or romantic getaways.
The suite features a queen bed, lounge area with sofa, flatscreen LCD television (with DSTV) & hi fi, plus separate mini-kitchen equipped with microwave, kettle and toaster. The fridge contains complimentary snacks and 'honesty bar' drinks.

There's a spacious shower room tiled in mosaics and natural slate, pool towels and toiletries, together with a separate toilet.
A private furnished patio leading to the lawn, lapa and pool completes the scene.
Additional features include:
- digital safe, hairdryer, ceiling fan, heated towel rail, underfloor heating, electric blanket, bathroom heater, china, cutlery, glassware, private entrance and off-street parking.

Studio 2, bed and breakfast or room only:
This is an exceptionally spacious suite sleeping up to 3 adults (regret no pets or children under 12 years).
It features king/twin beds, plus comfortable single sleeper couch, ample wardrobe space with digital safe and lounge area with sofa, DSTV and hi fi.
The well equipped mini-kitchen has a microwave, toaster and kettle, plus a fridge stocked with complimentary snacks and 'honesty bar' refreshments.

The stylish ensuite shower room / WC, tiled in natural slate and mosaics, contains toiletries and pool towels.
The furnished patio leads onto the lawn and lapa and is just a few steps from our sparkling pool.
Additional features include:
- hairdryer, ceiling fan, heated towel rail, underfloor heating, bathroom heater, electric blankets, china, cutlery, glassware, private entrance and off-street parking.

Studio 3 two-bedroomed self catering apartment:
This apartment is perfect for up to 4 adults (regret no pets or children under 12 years) and offers 76m2 of stylish, open plan self-catering accommodation.
Totally self-contained with a furnished patio (including its own braai) and overlooking the garden and pool, the apartment has a fully equipped kitchen/diner with microwave oven/grill, electric hob and extractor, toaster and kettle.
The fridge/freezer contains complimentary snacks and 'honesty bar' drinks.

The studio comprises a master bedroom with queen bed and stylish ensuite shower room/WC, plus a smaller twin room with separate shower/WC.
Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes with dressing table and panel heaters.
The lounge area contains a rattan sofa and armchairs, coffee table, DSTV and hi-fi.
Additional features include:
- bathroom heaters, electric blankets, hairdryer, underfloor heating in lounge, fans, digital safe, toiletries and pool towels. The private guest car park is a few steps away.

When we extended and converted the property from an ordinary home into an extraordinary guest house, we tried to think of everything! That's why you'll find more services and facilities than you'd expect from guest establishment of our size.

We’re one of only a few guest establishments to offer true flexibility and choice. You can opt for accommodation-only or B&B in Studios 1 & 2 and fully self-catering or B&B in Studio 3, our 2 bedroomed apartment.
If you’re not hungry enough to join us on the upper deck for panoramic views and a hearty, imaginative breakfast, you'll find everything you need in your studio to prepare your own light meals.

This golfing paradise:
If you enjoy golf, you'll be spoiled for choice! The Garden Route boasts many of the most highly-rated courses in South Africa. There are no fewer than 9 visitor-friendly clubs located between Mossel Bay and Plettenburg Bay alone - all of them offering a different challenge to players of all standards.

Base yourself in the comfort of Armadillo Studios and you'll be at the heart of this golfing paradise. We're located just 2 minutes from Knysna Golf Club, 10 minutes from panoramic Pezula and 15 minutes from spectacular Simola.
Plettenburg Bay and Goose Valley Clubs are 25 minutes away and the renowned courses at George, Kingswood, Oubaai and Pinnacle Point are within easy reach.

Your hosts, Marion & David, are both keen players and will be delighted to help plan and book your golfing itinerary - and hear about your trials and triumphs afterwards!

Our green environment:
Set in one of the most beautiful and unspoiled areas of the Cape, we care as much about the environment as we do our guests. The effects of climate change in the Garden Route, especially in the form of reduced rainfall, have made us acutely aware of our environmental responsibilities.

To reduce our electricity consumption and carbon footprint, we have installed solar panels to heat all our water.
To cut back on water usage we have planted our garden with drought-tolerant indigenous plants and trees.
We have installed a 5,000 litre storage tank to collect rainwater from the roof, thus eliminating the need to use mains water for garden and pool maintenance.

To minimise chemical usage, we use biodegradable cleaning and laundry products and use a saltwater chlorinator to keep the swimming pool crystal clear. This not only eliminates the need for unpleasant chemical additives, but also makes bathing a natural pleasure.
We recycle garden and kitchen waste to produce compost and use an innovative root-watering pipe system, manufactured from recycled vehicle tyres. This is attached to the rainwater tank and irrigates our herb and vegetable garden when necessary.

Our location and directions:
We're located in the quiet, leafy suburb of Hunters Home, just 1 minute from the lagoon and five minutes from the centre of Knysna with its picturesque waterfront, superb restaurants, boutiques and boat cruise terminals.
Drive in the opposite direction and you can be standing on top of the famous Heads or walking barefoot on the beaches of Leisure Isle within 5 minutes.
There are 2 local pub/restaurants within a couple of minutes of us and a further restaurant and café at the base of the Heads.

Knysna Golf Club is literally round the corner, the delights of the Pezula championship golf course & spa are a scenic 10-minute drive and the spectacular Jack Nicklaus course at Simola is just 15 minutes away.
With our easy access to the N2 highway, excursions to Knysna Elephant Park, Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, Birds of Eden, Keurbooms River cruises, Keurbooms Strand, Tsitsikamma National Park, Brenton-on-Sea and Buffels Bay are a breeze!

Directions from George: Take the N2 through Knynsa town centre, passing Provincial Hospital on left. When road becomes a dual carriageway, move into the right hand lane, continue for approx 1k and turn right into George Rex Drive just after Caltex garage & Kwik Spar on right (signposted The Heads, Pezula, Leisure Isle.) Continue along George Rex.
After the traffic lights, take 2nd turn on left (Howard Street, by Knysna Golf Course). Continue for 500m and take 1st turn on left (signposted Private Hospital) and IMMEDIATELY turn right into Lindsay Street. Armadillo Studios is exactly 500m up the lane on the right.

Directions from PE / Plettenberg Bay: When you come down the hill approaching Knysna on the N2, turn left into George Rex Drive (signposted The Heads, Pezula, Leisure Isle.)
After the traffic lights, take 2nd turn on left (Howard Street, by Knysna Golf Course). Continue for 500m and take 1st turn on left (signposted Private Hospital) and IMMEDIATELY turn right into Lindsay Street. Armadillo Studios is exactly 500m up the lane on the right.
