Vatersay House is a homely, well appointed Bed & Breakfast, with a touch of luxury, offering a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere to our guests.

Set in ½ acre of grounds, Vatersay House offers stunning views over the natural beauty of Glen Hinnisdal, the surrounding hills to MacLeod's Tables 26Km away.

Vatersay House, bespoke designed, was built in 2004 on de-crofted land in Glenhinnisdal.

Vatersay House Accommodation

Your fully furnished Double Bedroom has uninterrupted countryside views and is fully equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, radio alarm clock and satellite TV with DVD player.
The En-Suite Bathroom has a full size bath, shower, toilet, washbasin, bathroom scales, electric razor power point and a heated towel rail.

Have a safe and trouble free journey
GPS Co-ordinates SAT NAV: N: 57.54297 W: 006.37537 ALT : 115 m
Over Skye Bridge to roundabout - turn right A87 Broadford/Portree/Uig.
2) Keep on the A87 through Broadford to Portree
3) At Portree take the left turn (small filter with give way) signposted A87 Uig and Dunvegan.
4) Keep on the A87 - (past the Dunvegan turn off on your left) to Uig
5) Keep a watch out for the Glenhinnisdal sign post, approx 10 miles from Portree,
6) Turn right, sign posted Glehinnisdal,(after the sign for Hennisdal River) on to a single track Road.
7) Keep on this road for approx 2 miles.
You will pass over 2 cattle grids, past some other B&Bs and an old type red telephone box.
The valley flattens out and you begin a gentle climb again.
Vatersay House is on the left.
(the sign is on the fence).
Enter the driveway and up to flat level parking area.
From Uig Ferry Terminal
1) Exit the ferry Terminal on to the A87 - Portree Road
2) Approx 4 miles keep a look out for a Left Turn, sigle track road, signposted Glenhinnisdal.
3) Follow directions as number 7 above.

Getting there from the Information Centre

From Portree, turn right on to the A87, signposted Dunvegan and Uig.
Stay on the A87 for around 10 miles towards Uig, going straight on past the Dunvegan turnoff to your left.
Just after crossing the Hinnisdal river, you will see a signpost for Glenhinnisdal to the right.
Take this single track road for around 2 miles.
Around half way down the Glen, you will pass an old type red telephone box.
As the road begins to climb again, you will see a sign on a fence for Vatersay House on your left.
Enter and drive up to the flat level parking area.

Getting There by Car
Follow the signs to Kyle of Lochash which will take you to the toll free Skye Bridge.
Once over Skye Bridge, then go right at the roundabout which is signposted Portree, Uig and Broadford, staying on the A87.
Go through Broadford towards Portree.
At Portree, turn left (A87) following the signposted road for Dunvegan and Uig.
The directions are then the same as above.

Getting There by Railway
Our nearest Train Station is Kyle of Lochash.
This is at the end of the line from Inverness and beside Skye Bridge.
You can get a bus from Inverness which goes to Portree or pick this bus up at Kyle of Lochash.
At Portree, you will be able to get a Taxi to Vatersay House.
Getting there by Aeroplane
Our nearest Airport is Inverness, which is around 3 hours drive to our Bed & Breakfast or you can get a Train or Bus from central Inverness as above.

Getting There by Ferry
The Ferry from the Hebrides departs/arrives from Uig making our Bed & Breakfast handy for people touring the Western Islands.
From Uig, follow the A87 towards Portree.
Approx 5 Miles from Uig, you will see a signpost for Glenhinnisdal.
Turn left on to the single track road and follow the directions as above.
