Millport offers the ideal base for an away day, an extended weekend or a longer vacation.

This Island Paradise is just 10 minutes by ferry from the Scottish mainland. There is a ferry every 15 minutes in the summer and the ferry terminal at Largs is just 60 minutes from Glasgow.

Millport means many different things to different people. To the sporting fraternity, the Island boasts a great 18 hole Golf Course with some outstanding views across the Firth of Clyde to the Islands of Bute and Arran, the latter with its magnificent mountain range creating a dramatic backdrop; the Bowling Club offers two well maintained greens and a separate putting green and, like the Golf Club, it welcomes non Members, and the National Sailing School provides courses including windsurfing, canoeing, sailing and many other water based activities for all ages and abilities. Add to these the attraction of cycling or walking around the 10.25 miles of the Island with different panoramas greeting the visitor at every bend and almost every level of fitness is catered for.

If you are not up for an energetic break then there are lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and entertainments to absorb your mind. The beaches offer relaxation and the grounds of the magnificently restored Garrison House and the Cathedral of the Isles are great to wander through for peace and quiet.
