Directions
From St Margrets Hope follow signs for Kirkwall when
you pass the Hospital you are in Junction Road carry on to Kirkwall Tourist
Information Centre on the left.Laurel House is located on the right in
a small carpark past the Post Office.
From Stromness or Hatston ferry terminal follow signs
to Kirkwall following the shore through 2 roundabouts and at the 3rd turn
right into Junction Road, Laurel House is in the small car park on the
left.
Public Transport Directions
From the nearest information centre
From Kirkwall TIC,cross at the Zebra crossing and turn left. Laurel House
is about 300 yards down the road next to a small car park.
From Stromness TIC take the A965 to Kirkwall, continue straight on at the first two roundabouts then turn right at the third. Turn in your next left and then left into the small carpark which Laurel House is situated beside.
By railway
Scotrail from all Scottish destinations to Thurso, Wick or Aberdeen where
you can get a ferry from.
By aeroplane
Flybe Airlines either from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Wick
or Sumburgh (Shetland) to Kirkwall (Orkney).
From the airport, follow the signs for Kirkwall (3 miles). The road will take you into the centre of town. Turn left onto Castle Street. At the next junction turn right. Follow the road until you get to a small carpark. Turn in to the carpark and Laurel House is the last house on the left before the lane.
Alternatively take the airport bus to Kirkwall Travel Centre/Tourist information Centre which Laurel House is within walking distance from.
By ferry
Northlink Ferries from Aberdeen or Lerwick to Kirkwall, or from Scrabster
to Stromness. Pentland Ferries from Gills Bay to St Margaret's Hope. John
O'Groats Ferries from John O'Groats to Burwick (May - Sept only).
