Tucked among the evergreens at the end of a quiet lane, Red Wood Cottage is an ideal retreat. Red Wood is a three bedroom, fully equipped housekeeping cottage just a short stroll from one of the most beautiful beaches on the South Shore of PEI. Red Wood Cottage Accommodation Red Wood's cozy interior features an open concept kitchen and living areas, three piece bath, and screened porch area. Outside, the cottage has a large back yard and BBQ. The cottage is equipped with a DVD player, a cd player, satellite TV and high speed internet. A variety of board games, beach toys and lawn games are also provided.

Rentals are normally done on a Saturday to Saturday basis with check-in after 3 p.m. and checkout by 11 a.m.

Off-season: May 1st - June 30th / September 1 - October 30th
High season: July 1 - August 30th

About the Area
Red Clay, Sea Glass, Sandy Rose, and Red Wood cottages are located in the quiet coastal community of Wood Islands on the southeast tip of Prince Edward Island. Just a short walk from each of the cottages is a spectacular view of the Northumberland Strait, a beautiful white sand beach and one of the best swimming areas in P.E.I.

Wood Islands is a hub of activity throughout the summer. The cottages are just minutes from:
Wood Islands car ferry terminal and wharf, which has a restaurant, craft shops, and where fresh lobster and seafood are sold. 'Plough the Waves' Visitor's Centre houses a variety of handcraft shops, a wine/liquor/beer store, and a visitor information centre.

The nearby villages of Murray River and Murray Harbour have banking, a bakery, gas stations, restaurants, a grocery /hardware store, seal watching cruises, seaplane tours, and several handcraft shops.

• Cruise Manada Seal Watching Tours - Montague.
• Murray Harbour Ceilidhs - held every two weeks throughout the summer.
• Cape Bear Lighthouse Museum - Cape Bear.
• Northumberland Fisheries Festival - Murray River. Celebrating the livelihood of the area on the last weekend of July, featuring carnival rides, dory races, a lobster supper, scallop-shucking contests, local talent, and the Miss Northumberland pageant.
