Well, you no longer have to imagine. At Shady Lane Cottage and B&B all of this is a reality, and more! Situated in St. Peter's Harbour, just two kilometers from the town of Morell, the Cottage and B&B is the ideal location for that vacation of your dreams.

You have so much to choose from that you can be sure your every desire can be catered to. If you are looking for an active vacation, then the area has countless options to test anyone's taste.

Swimming in the warmest waters north of the Carolinas, hiking the Confederation Trail, kayaking/canoeing the rivers or ocean, cycling the back roads of the Island, going deep sea fishing from the harbour just two kilometers away, painting the scenic wonders all around you, idling through the numerous art and craft shops, golfing some of the best courses in Eastern Canada, exploring the historical old towns and villages, and visiting the birthplace of Confederation are just a few of the countless things to do.

Shady Lane B&B Accommodation

The B&B
This four-star B&B is situated in the owner's beautiful new home. There are two large bedrooms, each with king size beds, antique furniture and appointed with lovely en-suite bathrooms. The black-slate tile floors of the bathrooms are quite unique, and show off the large pedestal sinks. The towels and linens are of the highest quality, reflecting the expectations of your hosts when they travel.

Breakfast is taken in the house, with the option of looking out at St. Peter's Bay; sitting at the huge island counter in the gourmet kitchen; or eating at the elegant Victorian dining table; or enjoy your meal while admiring the gardens from the Sun Room. We have a varied breakfast menu, with weekly specialty items.

You are invited to select your breakfast the night before, in order that we can fully appreciate your desires. We are eager to cater to all, and we can vary the menu to suit all tastes and diets.

To make your stay with us as pleasant as possible, we have made available our large lounge/recreation room. Here you may watch satellite television, listen to music, play darts, read from our library, or enjoy your drinks at the bar.

The Cottage
The cottage shares its site with the owner's house, and is surrounded with beautiful trees and expanses of lawn. On entering the front door you will be immediately struck by the openness of the architecture. The living/dining room/den and kitchen flow into each other, and enjoy the same beautiful pine floors. The den area has satellite TV, with DVD and VCR facilities.

A short hallway leads to the well appointed bathroom (with washer and dryer) and the two bedrooms. The rear bedroom has a queen size bed, with a changing room attached. A door leads outside to the patio, which has a table and six chairs, shaded by a large garden umbrella.

The second bedroom has two single beds with a large closet. The den area has a sofa bed which will accommodate two people. . All linens, bedding and towels are supplied with the rental.

The kitchen comes completely equipped with stove, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave oven. A large inventory of plates, dishes, cutlery, and pots will enable you to cook as much or as little as you like. A door, off of the pantry area, leads outside where a propane gas barbeque is situated.

In the Spring of 2010, new thermo pane windows were installed throughout the cottage, and it is now fully air-conditioned.

Your Hosts
Your hosts Ian and Pam Rowe invite you to visit their beautiful home and cottage. Both are former educators, until recently retired. Ian was in educational administration in Saint John, New Brunswick. Pam taught at the high school level, and specialized in culinary technology along with a host of other home economics courses.

In September 2009, they came out of retirement to teach at the Canadian International School in Tokyo, Japan, and they are now home to welcome guests to the B&B and Cottage.They have four children and four grandchildren.

Directions
Shady Lane B&B and Cottage is located on the North-East coast of Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is approximately a 30 minute drive from Charlottetown, and 2 kilometers from the town of Morell, which is on Route 2.

If you are driving and entering PEI across the Confederation Bridge, you should take Route 1 to Charlottetown, the provincial capital. Upon reaching Charlottetown, take the By-Pass and follow the signs for Wood Islands and Souris. Pass through three sets of traffic lights, and then make a left turn onto Route 2 at the forth set of lights, which is marked for St. Peter's and Souris.

Travel for 25-30 minutes, passing through Mount Stewart, until the outskirts of Morell. When you see the blue and white tourist sign with our name, move into the centre lane and take the first turning on the left, which is called St. Peter's Harbour Road. Follow this road for approximately 1 kilometer until you get to the first turn on the right, which is Creek Road. Go about 80 metres and we are the second house on the left, number 25 Creek Road.

If you are driving and entering P.E.I by way of the ferry service from Nova Scotia, follow the signs for Montague by way of Route 315. Exit Montague on Route 4, and travel approximately 5 kms, before turning left onto Route 313. Make a left turn on Route 321, and follow to the end where it joins Route 2, east of Morell.

Turn left onto Route 2 and follow it through the town of Morell., passing by the Co-Op and Post Office. After about 1 km., take the first turning on the right, which is St.Peter's Harbour Road. Drive approximately 1 km. and take the first right. You are now on Creek Road. We are the second building on the left (number 25), hidden behind the trees.

If you are flying into Charlottetown Airport, you will find a number of car rental facilities within the airport. As you leave the airport facility, turn left and go to the first set of traffic lights. Turn left onto the Charlottetown by-pass, and go to the next set of lights. Turn left onto Route 2, signed for St. Peter's and Souris. Follow the rest of the directions as describe when entering the Island by way of the Confederation Bridge.
