The Andrews Family welcomes you to New Glasgow Highlands. Our campground is carved into a sheltered southern slope of an Acadian Forest. Bordered by a quiet tree lined farm road that leads to a fishing pond.

We offer cozy camp cabins, 3-way sites that can accommodate all sizes of motor homes and trailers and private tenting sites. Family owned and operated specializing in relaxed quiet camping, clean quality facilities, safe environment and personal service to our visitors.

Glasgow is recognized as one of the prettiest villages in Canada.

New Glasgow  hotels

We're in the centre of PEI and the magical land of Anne of Green Gables famous for panoramic views of rolling farm fields and coastal drives that offer breathtaking seascapes featuring red sandstone cliffs, bays, harbors and sand dunes. Less than 10 minutes to Cavendish Beaches and 15 minutes to the Provincial Capital - Charlottetown.

New Glasgow Highlands Camp Amenities

Camp Cabins and Campsites are carved into a sheltered southern slope of an Acadian Forest. Mature stands of maple, birch, spruce and pine provide maximum buffer between sites. Share the woodland habitat with native wildlife and the Lady Slipper Orchid. Enjoy a quiet relaxing evening around a campfire.

Camp Cabins:
For those who love the camping experience but prefer additional comforts or plan on traveling light this type of camping is for you. These cozy camp cabins are bright and comfortable, bunk and double beds with mattresses, bench style table with seating, shelving, futon, electricity and lights. Outside deck with picnic table.

Bring your usual camping supplies (bedding, towels, dishes, cooler, campstove, lawn chairs, or small plug in appliances.)

RV and Trailer Sites:
Sheltered, fully serviced, level, 3-way pull in and pull thru 30 amp sites with washed gravel surface.

Tenting Sites:
Well maintained, unserviced, wooded sites with excellent surface. Close to potable water, easy access to washroom and lodge.

Facilities and Recreation
The campground was designed, built and is maintained by us to achieve camping excellence for you. Our campground is small and unique specializing in relaxed quiet camping, clean quality facilities, safe environment and personal service to our visitors.

Washrooms:
The campground is serviced by one main central washroom facility. Immaculate, heated, pine interior, checkerboard tile floors, free hot showers, air ventilation system, cleaned regularly, no waiting in line, with fresh cut flowers.

Other amenities include: Laundromat, dishwashing stations and pay phone.

Lodge:
Cozy pine lodge with woodstove, electric stove, microwave, toasters, coffee perc.,and counter for food preparation. Sit, chat, read, play games or dine. Toys and books for kids. Ideal for off season campers or inclement weather.

Trails:
For walkers quiet clay roads with little traffic offer peaceful strolls or strenuous hikes for the more serious walker with wonderful views of the area. Bikers can follow the same routes. Closest campground, shortest route for hikers and bikers on Confederation Trail exiting for Cavendish excursion (from Village of Hunter River).

Campstore and Entrance:
The campstore carries basic camping supplies, ice, snacks and campfire wood and doubles as the entrance security building and internet access site. Shuttle service can be arranged from this location. Also at the entrance of the campground is a sorting station for recyclables, compost materials and waste.

Pool:
Enjoying a refreshing swim in our well maintained in ground heated pool with shallow and deep ends with stairs for easy access. Close by a large grassed playground for throwing balls, etc. Playground equipment for small kids.

Pond:
Tidal salt water and fresh water mix at New Glasgow, upstream trout pass through a fish ladder to the pond. Bald eagle and osprey fish these waters, “A Birder’s Paradise.” Early in the 19th Century this pond was a source of water power for the early Scottish Settlers. Bring along your canoe or kayak as the fishing pond has lots of interesting things to see.

Office:
Our office is located in our home which is on site. This allows us to address any special needs, repairs, and provide a 24 hour presence.

Directions
From Confederation Bridge:
Highway #1 East to the community of Crapaud then Highway #13 North to the Village of New Glasgow. Turn right at The Toy Factory, cross bridge, stay right and proceed uphill - Highway #224. We are two kilometers from The Toy Factory on the right.

From Wood Islands Ferry:
Highway #1 West, exit right immediately off the Hillsborough Bridge at Charlottetown on the arterial highway, exit right on Route #2 West. Continue on Route #2 West, right to #7 North (six kilometers), left on #224 West. Travel for approximately 13 kilometers to campground on left.

From Airport:
Sherwood Road to Route #2 West, exit right on #7 North (six kilometers), left on #224 West. Travel approximately 13 kilometers to campground on left.
