Launching-by-the-Sea is located in Launching, PEI and is uniquely situated at the beginning of a mile long white sand spit which separates the ocean from McPherson’s Cove. From the house, the sand spit beach stretches northward toward Annandale Harbor, the cove beach follows Boughton River to the west, and in the southerly direction is yet another beach which eventually leads all the way to Launching Harbor. The beach house is located 15 minutes from Cardigan Village (gas station, convenience store, restaurants, and liquor store) and within 20 minutes from the larger towns of Montague and Souris.

It’s only 20 minutes to Dundarave and Brudenell Golf Courses; 30 minutes to the Links at Crowbush Cove and 50 minutes to Charlottetown. Enjoy the very peaceful and secluded setting, featuring breathtaking scenery, natural beauty, pristine beaches, and a haven for waterfowl.

Enjoy your stay at this fully equipped Beach House which offers 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, over 1500 square feet of living space and 250 feet of water frontage. This home comfortably sleeps six and is uniquely situated at the beginning of a mile long white sand spit which separates the ocean from McPherson’s Cove.

From the house, the sand spit beach stretches northward toward Annandale Harbor, the cove beach follows Boughton River to the west, and in the southerly direction is yet another beach which eventually leads all the way to Launching Harbor. Just steps from your door you can enjoy the warm waters and seemingly endless beaches, which are always great for leisurely beach strolls and clam digging at low tide.

When it’s finally time to come in, enjoy the open floor plan with its large great room offering fantastic views and a cozy propane fireplace. The beautiful upgraded kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, plenty of counter space with a center island, and all the gadgets and cookware needed to make fabulous meals (especially when accompanied by a nice Rossignol wine)!

The wrap around porch and second story decks are great places to enjoy a cool drink while gazing at the water. For a bird’s eye view, check out the third story look-out! Often times, you might see seals basking in the sun on sandbars in the cove. The area is also home to a wide variety of water fowl including Great Blue Herons, Canada Geese, Cormorants, Sandpipers and Bald Eagles. Picturesque Annandale Harbor with its fishing boats and lighthouse is situated on the opposite shore of McPherson’s Cove.

This new fully equipped beach house features 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths with awesome views throughout! The first floor offers an open floor plan with a propane fireplaced large great room, dining area, an upgraded kitchen, a bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a full bathroom. The second story has a sitting room, a bathroom with a tiled shower, a bedroom with two twin beds and a master bedroom with a queen sized bed.

A spiral staircase leads you to a third story look out with lighthouse like views! Enjoy over 700 square feet of wrap around porch on the first level, breakfast on the master bedroom’s private deck, or sunbathing on the sitting room’s deck!

Launching-by-the-Sea is the beautiful summer beach house of Steve & Cyndy Kilmen of New Hampshire. They are happy to share their beach house with you for your PEI Dream Vacation.

Before You Arrive at the Cottage:
Please note that grocery and liquor stores are OPEN on PEI on Sundays. Grocery and liquor stores can be found in Charlottetown, Montague or Souris.

What Should Your Bring With You?
The house is fully equipped with all linens, towels and cooking utensils. Be sure to bring a calling card for long distance calls. Please note that grocery and liquor stores are open on PEI on Sunday’s. CD’s and DVD’s can add to the enjoyment of your stereo system and summer evenings on the porch.

Directions from the airport
1. From Airport head to the Hillsborough Bridge
2. Cross the Hillsborough Bridge , continue on the Trans Canada Highway until you get to Cherry Valley aprox 15 minutes.
3. Once you get to Cherry Valley you are going to take a left onto Highway # 3 and travel towards Pooles Corner aprox 30 minutes
4. Once you get to Poole’s Corner you will take a left onto #4 and travel 14km to Primrose, you will see a sign that reads “Launching Place”.
5. Take a right onto Route 311(Primrose Road) and travel apox 11.8 km.
6. You will see a sign on your right that reads “Beach Road”, take this road and drive for approx 200 ft and take your next left and travel almost to the end of the road and turn right onto Sandspit Lane and take that down to Launching by the Sea.

Directions from Confederation Bridge
1. Once off the Confederation Bridge take the Trans Canada Highway East for approx 50-60min to Charlottetown.
2. From Charlottetown you will continue east and cross the Hillsborough Bridge, Continue on the Trans Canada highway until you get to Cherry Valley aprox 15 min.
3. Once you get to Cherry Valley you are going to take a left onto highway #3 and travel towards Pooles Corner aprox 30 minutes.
4. Once you get to Pooles corner you will take a left onto #4 and travel 14km to Primrose where you will see a sign that Reads “Launching Place”.
5. Take a right onto route 311 (Primrose Road) and travel aprox 11.8 km. You will see a sign on your left that reads “Beach Road” – take this road and drive for aprox 200 ft and take your next left (currently there is no sign on this road- it is called Long Wharf Road) and travel almost to the end of the Road and turn right and follow Sandspit Lane to the end You will have arrived at Launching-by-the-Sea. Relax, have fun and enjoy!!

Note: As you travel from Pooles Corner on Route 4, you will pass a road on your right that reads “Launching Road” please do not get anxious this is not the right road; continue past this road to Primrose.

Directions from Woods Islands Ferry Terminal
1. Once off the boat take route #315 towards Montague for aprox 30 km. Be on the look out for this exit as it is very soon after you exit the ferry.
2. From there you will get onto the #4 and drive through the town of Montague. Continue on the # 4 for aprox 20 km to Primrose until you come to a sign that reads “Launching Place”.
3. Take a right onto route 311 (Primrose Road) and travel aprox 11.8 km. You will see a sign on your left that reads “Beach Road”- take this road and drive for aprox 200 ft and take your next left (currently there is no sign on this road- it is called Long Wharf Road) and travel almost to the end of the Road and turn right and follow Sandspit Lane to the end You will have arrived at Launching-by-the-Sea.
