Well, we opened in the Spring of 2009. My philosophy has always been to provide the ultimate level of customer service, from the time you place the reservation, to the time you check out. My goal is to make your stay here as comfortable as possible. I take great pride in my staff’s ability to help our customers make the most of their time here on PEI. Be it, suggesting and booking restaurant reservations, or helping you find tickets to a show playing downtown. It’s our job to ensure your time here is unforgettable. Compact Room, 1 Queen bed
We have one compact room available at The Sonata Inn. This beautiful room contains all the same amenities as all of our other rooms, however, it is structurally smaller. There is a tad less room to walk around, but the bathroom is still spacious. This is the only room that contains windows facing different directions, which allows maximum sunlight. These rooms are great for the budget traveler. Our compact room contains 1 Queen bed. Maximum Occupancy is two (2.)

Traditional Room, 1 Queen bed
These rooms are slightly smaller than our Standard Rooms, but provide incredible luxury at a budget rate. We have two of these rooms at The Sonata Inn. These rooms are spacious, and have a small sitting area. The bathrooms are incredibly spacious and newly renovated. These rooms also get a quite a bit of sun light as well. Our Traditional Rooms contain 1 Queen bed. Maximum occupancy is also two (2.)

Standard Room, 1 Queen bed, Futon
These are our typical Standard Room. We have 3 of these rooms. They are incredibly spacious with a large sitting complete with a futon (turns into a bed,) and a coffee table. These Standard Rooms contain large closet space as well. The bathrooms are large and spacious. These Standard Rooms contain 1 Queen bed, and a futon. Perfect for a family with 1 child. Maximum Occupancy is three (3.)

Standard Room, 2 Double beds, Futon
These are our most popular rooms. We have 3 of these rooms as well. The two double beds, and the futon provide incredible comfort for many people (up to 5!) Like all Standard Rooms, these contain large closet space as well. The bathrooms are also large and spacious. These Standard Rooms contain 2 double beds, and a futon. Perfect for a family with 2-3 children. Maximum Occupancy is five (5.)

Standard Room, 2 Queen Beds
These rooms contain 2 Queen beds, which are perfect for two couples, or a family. Instead of a futon, we compensate the larger beds with a smaller sitting area. Like all Standard Rooms, these contain large closet space as well. The bathroom are also large and spacious. Maximum occupancy is four (4).

French / Spanish / Japanese speakers!
Here at The Sonata Inn, we do our best to try to make everyone, of any ethnic background, as comfortable as possible. Mike van der Gaag, the owner, speaks English, French, Spanish. Most of our staff members also speak Japanese. We use translation software at the front desk for anyone who may need it. We understand the important of cultural synergy, and go to great lengths to make sure everyone, of all cultures and values, is comfortable here.

Laundry Facilities
Our Guests love this amenity. This is perfect for for anyone who has been traveling for quite some time, and is running out of clean clothes! Everything you need for a wash and a dry cycle is here; the detergent is included, as well as an iron and ironing board. The machines are coin operated. They take Loonies (the $1 coin!) We can provide change at the desk. The Laundry room is located on the basement floor of The Sonata Inn. It is open from 10am until 8pm.

Off Street Parking
Our parking lot has been recently extended to provide enough parking spaces for everyone in the building. The spaces are not assigned, but we guarantee there will be a spot for your vehicle. If you are bringing more than one vehicle for a one room reservation, make sure to tell us in advance. Extra parking does not cost a dime, it’s included in your room!

Our Mezzanine! A sun enriched public sitting/reading room.
This is our Mezzanine, it is this most unique room at The Sonata. It’s located on the landing, between the 1st and second floors. Our DVD library, and Public computer is located here. You can also take a gander at our book collection. This is a perfect place to relax, read, and check email. There is so much sun in this room during the afternoon, it’s brilliant.

Complimentary DVD Rentals
All of our rooms have a DVD player to compliment their television. You’re more than welcome to bring your own movies, but we have a decent library of titles that you can enjoy in your rooms. DVD rentals are free. Simply choose the movie you want, and bring it back when you’re finished. Our catalogue keeps growing, and there is something for everyone.

Public Computer / Free Wifi
This is our most popular amenity! We have a public computer for anyone who neglected (or maybe refused,) to bring their laptop. It’s connected to the internet and is completely free to use. The computer has Skype, and MSN installed, as well as the most recent web browsers. We also have Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi,) broadcasted throughout the entire property, so if you brought your internet devices, you’ll be connected during your stay. The wireless internet access and the public is free of charge.

Common Kitchenette
Located on the second floor is a seating area, complete with a fridge stocked with beverages you can purchase as well as a coffee and tea making station (coffee and tea are complimentary!) There is a microwave in this area as well, in case you want to warm up a snack! This is a great place to relax and drink a pick-me-up with some friends. You’ll find the ice machine and ice buckets in here as well.

Bicycle Storage
This is our garage. Guests are more than welcome to use this facility to store their bicycles here. The garage is kept locked at all times, and only the owners have the key, so you can rest assured, your belongings will be safe at all times. It’s always nice to have that extra security for peace of mind. We have multiple areas of storage, so if you need to store something larger, we can accommodate. If you want to send us your bike equipment before your stay, just let us know and we’ll take care of it.

Location
We are located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. We are two blocks away from the downtown core, on Grafton St. Most shops and restaurants in the area are only a short walk away. Charlottetown is almost right in the middle of PEI. It’s a perfect place to set up headquarters and relax. Most of the most beautiful beaches and parks on PEI are only 30 minutes away by car from our location.
