Charlottetown, PEI Canada is the vibrant capital city of Prince Edward Island and is located on the Northumberland Strait on the South shore. It's waterfront area offers fine restaurants, theatre, shopping, antique stores and harbor vistas – all of which are within five minutes walking distance from your door when you stay with us. The island’s beautiful North shore beaches, golf and many other recreational activities are less than an hour’s scenic drive away! Come relax in our elegantly appointed 2BR/2BA accommodations which overlook the Charlottetown harbor from an elevated position.

Views, views and more water views are available from our property - even when you are lying in bed.... It's all here and it's only a short walk to most everything that matters within the downtown capital and waterfront district.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce the opening of our new Bed and Breakfast operation in Monticello which is on the North shore of PEI in eastern Kings County. Situated on 115 acres directly on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, this is a truly spectacular property offering both sunrises and sunset vistas, oceanfront hiking trails and native blueberries in season.

Here we have three bedrooms available with breakfast served in our sunroom overlooking the ocean.

We actually have a delightfully warm summer season here on PEI despite the island’s Northerly latitude. Daytime temperatures in late June, July and August average about 73-77F (23-24C) with an ocean breeze. Nightime temperatures will be about 60F (15C).

The Briggs Suite has elegantly appointed features throughout including 2 bedrooms with Queen-sized beds and sleeps four comfortably.

Other amenities include hardwood and tile floors, two full baths with in-floor heating, a gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar, dining room seating for six, air conditioning, cable television with VCR/DVD player, guest computer/printer with high speed and wireless internet, complimentary telephone service to the US and Canada, a Dimplex electric fireplace, iron and commercial garment steamer and in-suite laundry facilities.

Two decks, overlooking the waterfront, are accessible directly from the unit and offer elevated viewing opportunities of the harbor while barbecuing, taking afternoon tea or enjoying evening cocktails as the sun goes down.

At our Monticello B&B site we have three bedrooms available, two with queen beds and one with (2) twin beds. Our screened-in sunroom offers relaxing viewing of the ocean and the taking of breakfast each morning.

Recreation
The Briggs Suite at the Roseport is located directly on the Charlottetown waterfront, adjacent to Founder’s Hall and within easy walking distance to Peake’s Quay, Confederation Landing Park, shopping and fine dining. Live theatre and concerts are also only a short distance away. A five minute walk downtown will take you to the Victoria Row pedestrian mall with its fine outdoor dining bistros which are open during the summer season and nearby antique shops.

The Confederation Centre of the Arts and some of Charlottetown’s top restaurants including Maple Grille, Sims Steakhouse, Mavor’s, The Merchantman Pub, Gahan House, Pilot House and Sirenella Ristorante are all just a few minutes walk from your door.

Less than an hour’s drive away are some of Prince Edward Island’s finest North Shore beaches, tourist attractions such as Cavendish, Anne of Green Gables House, and the Island Preserve Company in New Glasgow. World-class golf destinations such as the fabulous links course at Crowbush in Lakeside, PEI can also be reached easily by car.

Horseback riding is also available in Lakeside, PEI, cycling on the PEI Bike Trail course which runs the full length of the island and deep sea fishing charters at North Lake are also within easy reach of the Briggs Suite. The East Point lighthouse, Basin Head Beach on the South Shore and the North Lake Windmill farm are just over an hour’s drive to the East of Charlottetown.

If you are staying with us out at our Monticello B&B home in Eastern Kings county, many of these same attractions are less than 20 minutes drive away including deep sea fishing at North Lake and some of PEI’s warmest swimming water is available at Basin Head Beach on the south shore - just across the island from Monticello.

Location
Prince Edward Island is located in Eastern Canada in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence directly North of New Brunswick and to the West of Nova Scotia. Getting here by air from within Canada is easy as the island is served by regularly scheduled flights from Toronto, Montreal and Halifax. PEI can also be reached non-stop in the summer via JFK NY (Delta).

Ground transportation to the island can be made quite easily by means of the spectacular Confederation Bridge which connects PEI directly to mainland New Brunswick. PEI is approximately 1000km/600miles from Toronto, 1100km/660miles from Boston and 1450km/870miles from New York City.

The Roseport is located directly on the waterfront overlooking the Charlottetown harbor and is about a 10 minute drive to the capital city airport. It is less than an hour’s drive from the Roseport to the Confederation Bridge. Our Monticello bed and breakfast operation is located on Route 16 (the Northside Road) about an hour’s drive East of Charlottetown. We are accessible via Route 2 and St. Peters Bay.
