Our Heritage
The former Hurry Farm home was built in the late 1800s early 1900s. The Main House is an example of typical turn of the century rural architecture complete with country kitchen and with original pine floors throughout.

A Country Home has been offering tourists a home away from home for over 15 years. Our 2.5 acres offers a country setting within the city limits. Many parts of the Island are easily accessibility within a short driving distance. For example the North Cape, where the Atlantic Wind Test Site is located, can be reached within 2 hours.

One of the more notable residents of the Hurry Farm was J. Eric Hurry (1914–1987). A native and lifelong resident of West Royalty, P.E.I., James Eric Hurry was an owner and breeder of purebred Guernsey dairy cattle for 58 years. He was instrumental in the introduction and promotion of 2% milk.

Eric Hurry's farm was in close proximity to Agricultural Canada Upton Road Experimental Farm and he participated in many innovations in agriculture, with artificial insemination of cattle being one of them. He encouraged the use of artificial insemination to improve the breeding stock on Prince Edward Island. You can find out more information at The Atlantic Agriculture Hall Of Fame.

Location
A Country Home Bed & Breakfast is located one half mile on the Upton Road from Route #1 on the west side of Charlottetown. We are minutes from Charlotteown, the capital of PEI, central to all attractions and ideal for day trips anywhere on Prince Edward Island.
