Architectural historians and conservationists worked meticulously to conserve the integrity of the original 1889 structure at 137 Pillars House ensuring truly distinctive luxury accommodation in Chiang Mai. Our guests can look forward to the same nostalgic ambience in all 30 suites, along with modern comforts and conveniences that you would expect at the finest Chiang Mai luxury hotel.

Rajah Brooke Suite

All larger than 70 square metres, each suite is fitted with a King bed that extends to an airy, vintage-tiled veranda over tropical gardens with cane shades for privacy, a rattan planter’s chair and a plush day bed.

Beyond a vast walk-in closet, the ensuite bathroom with dual washbasins includes a sun-lit bathroom with a free standing Victorian bath and separate indoor/outdoor showers. Interconnecting suites are available upon request.

East Borneo Suite

Averaging 75 square metres and accessible by a private corridor, each suite is fitted with a choice of a King bed or two Twin beds, a vast walk-in closet, an ensuite bathroom with dual washbasins.

A free standing Victorian bath and separate indoor/outdoor showers. It extends to an airy, vintage-tiled veranda over tropical gardens with cane shades for privacy, rattan planter’s chair and plush day bed.

William Bain Terrace Suite

Overlooking the historic pillars house, infinity pool and garden wall from the upper floor, both suites are 100 square metres. Each suite has a bedroom with a King bed, a generous living room and an airy veranda with cane shades for privacy.

The ensuite bathroom with dual washbasins has a vast walk-in closet and a sunken bath facing onto the tropical foliage

Louis Leonowens Pool Suite

Our 135 square metres ground floor suite includes a bedroom with a King bed, an ensuite bathroom with dual washbasins, a sunken bath facing onto the tropical foliage and separate indoor/outdoor showers.

The bedroom is separated with french doors that leads to a generous living room overlooking the infinity pool, garden wall and historic pillars house. More private pleasures may be enjoyed in each suite’s own 5.5 x 2.5 metre swimming pool.

By Air:
Domestic airlines (Thai Airways International, Bangkok Airways, Air Asia, Orient Thai Airlines and Nok Air ) operate several daily flights between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. A one-way flight takes about one hour.

By Bus:
Several ordinary and air-conditioned buses leaving daily from Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal (also known as Mo Chit) on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road.

By Train:
Express and rapid trains leave for Chiang Mai from Hualamphong Station several times daily and the trip takes about 11-12 hours for express trains. It is highly recommended to reserve seats well in advance, especially for sleepers.
