Treat yourself with a visit in our thatched jewel and allow yourself to be spoilt in our individual B&B.

Perfectly located in the green University area of Stellenbosch, we are within walking distance of the historic town centre; that means you do not have to use your car to enjoy our good restaurants, museums, cafes. Everything the winelands are famous for is close by.

While the outside is all rustic cottage, the emphasis inside is on style, modernity and function: clean lines, natural materials, modern fittings in bathrooms and high-quality orthopedic beds.

Some rooms have view of the mountains or a private wooden deck, some a stone bathtub in the room.

Beautiful South Guest House Accommodation

Rooms:
We rent out rooms furnished with love. All rooms are different, friendly, some bright, some nicely shady and cool.
While outside is all rustic cottage, the emphasis inside is on style, modernity and function: clean lines, natural materials, modern fittings in bathrooms and high-quality orthopedic beds.
Some rooms have a view of the mountain or a private wooden deck, some a stone bathtub in the room or a lion's head watching your sleep.

African Rooms:
· rooms with a modern african inspiration
· stroll barefoot on natural floors
· romantic atmosphere under a thatch or bamboo roof
· sweet dreams in queen size or twin beds, all with orthopedic mattresses and extra-length
· modern, private bathrooms with shower or bath tub

In these rooms we combine African elements with modern design: Lion’s head meets bamboo ceiling and thatch roof a glass basin, a designer bath tub or township art.
Moreover we offer highlights like tracking stars through a skylight window at night from your bed or enjoy a sun-downer on your private wooden deck watching the sun setting.

All rooms are equipped with modern private bathrooms that have a shower or a bath tub. And we offer beds with European length (2m) and orthopedic mattresses.

The African Rooms are perfect for honeymooners.

About your Host:
“We were always waiting for more time. More time to see each other. More time to see our friends. More time to see our family. We were always waiting for long weekends, vacations and quiet time. We were even looking forward to our retirement! But things never changed.
Our lives never seemed to slow down. Until that one day when we decided to change things ourselves and to do it while we were still young and full of energy!”

Katarina is originally from the northern part of Sweden while her husband, Peter, is from the South. They are both determined and strong willed individuals as Peter was a cyclist and Katarina a cross-country skier. They do not shy away from challenges!

Peter used to work in the clothing industry where he used to run his own company. Katarina was part of the tourism and travel industry and used to make the decisions in big and mid sized companies. Their jobs required also a lot of travelling which enabled them to meet lots of different people and to experience a lot of interesting and diverse cultures.
They’ve lived in Austria, Spain and the USA.

“We are very keen on good food and wine so one day we decided to stop just talking about doing something different. We actually took the leap! We bought a guest house in South Africa!"

Today we still work with and meet lots of interesting people. We love to share our experiences and tips about travelling in South Africa.
Something which we have been doing a lot of since 2000. We now see each other every day and can take long lunches at wine estates or go mountain biking! We’ve found our small jewel- The Beautiful South Guesthouse in Stellenbosch. What a beautiful life!

We took over the first guest house in January 2007 and the second guesthouse in December 2008.
It has been an incredible adventure!
During the quieter seasons we have the opportunity to find more restaurants, wine estates and fun activities to recommend to our guests. We are looking forward to meeting you, to sharing our time and experiences, to give our hospitality and service or just a friendly smile!

We and our team welcome you to The Beautiful South Guesthouse and The Beautiful West Guesthouse! We are here to spoil you. Enjoy!”
Peter and Katarina
