Sefapane is situated only 1 km from the Phalaborwa Gate, the central gate to the Kruger National Park.
The lodge is on a beautiful parcel of unspoiled bushveld, with dense and abundant gardens and 4 dams.
It has an ‘African style’ combined with luxury, which gives you a home away from home feeling as well as a great ‘bush’ experience.
The main lodge offers a pool, A la Carte Restaurant, bar and children's pool and jungle gym. Sefapane further offers exciting activities including wildlife encounters, cultural discoveries, the rich heritage of Africa and adventure activities for those seeking excitement.

We offer accommodation in African Rondavels and in luxury safari homes that are self catering.
The rondavels are ideal for the slow and soft adventure travellers whilst the safari homes are ideal for families with children and can easily house 2 families at a time.

Traditional Rondavels
These are decorated with rustic African elements, the rondavels are perfectly located and are equipped with twin beds and en-suite bathrooms.
There is a private verandah with comfortable chairs, fridge, tea / coffee facilities, hairdryer, radio, private parking, air conditioning and mosquito nets.

Deluxe Rondavels
For the space conscious guest, our deluxe rondavels are the model choice. In addition to the standard rondavel features it consists of a snug sitting corner.

Family Rondavels
Our family rondavels are best suited for large groups or families as they consist of the standard rondavel features as well as 2 bedrooms with twin beds, 1 bedroom with a bunk bed and 1 full family bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet.

There is also a selection of 20 homes to choose from with each furnishing representing an aspect of African opulence.
These homes are separated from the lodge by the picturesque dams, allowing guests to enjoy the vibrant bird-life and unspoilt scenery this location has to offer.
Each of the 20 homes comfortably sleeps 8 and is equipped with a spacious lounge, TV with satellite, dvd player, telephone, internet access, fully equipped kitchen and a patio.

Each house has 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, guest bathroom, outside shower, an extra guest bedroom, a spacious loft with bed and television.
There is a wooden deck with braai and barbeque facilities overlooking the dam, double carport and the estate has its own privately secured entrance and swimming pool, notwithstanding that the lodge facilities are within walking distance.

How To Get To Sefapane Lodge and Safaris


From Johannesburg to Phalaborwa via Tzaneen
Take N1 to Pietersburg and from Pietersburg take R71, past Tzaneen and Gravelotte, to Phalaborwa. Follow the signs towards Kruger National Park Gate - Phalaborwa.
After entering Phalaborwa, at the 2nd set of traffic light, turn right. Sefapane Lodge is situated on the right-hand side 200 metres on.
Distance is approximately 500 km and approximate time is 5 hours Via Blyde River Canyon (Panorama Route).

From Johannesburg take N12 to Witbank
Continue on the N4 and turn off at Belfast (R540), via Dullstroom to Lydenburg. Take preferred route Long Tom Pass towards Sabie (R37) via Graskop through Blyde River Canyon (R532).
Follow the Abel Erasmus pass, through the Strydom Tunnel in the direction of Hoedspruit. Take turnoff Phalaborwa / Tzaneen (R36) and the 1st turnoff to Mica (R526).

Continue north, past Mica (R40), to Phalaborwa. Follow the signs towards Kruger National Park Gate - Phalaborwa. After entering Phalaborwa, at the 2nd traffic light, turn right.
Sefapane Lodge and Safaris is situated on the right-hand side 200 metres on. Distance is approximately 550 km the approximate time is 6 hours.

People travelling via air transport will be fetched free of charge from the Phalaborwa airport and transferred to Sefapane Lodge.
