The Middelburg Country Club has a beautiful Clubhouse with Restaurant, Bars, Conference Facilities and Golf Shop. within walking distance from the Clubhouse there is a Guest House with 42 standard rooms. On the Grounds of the Middelburg Country Club there is ample sporting facilities for the avid sports enthusiast with an 18 hole Golf Course, 6 All Weather Tennis Courts, 2 Bowling Greens, 3 Squash Courts and a beautiful Swimming Pool.

Middelburg Country Club Accommodation

The Club has a beautiful Guest Lodge with 42 Standard Rooms and 1 Executive Suite.
All rooms are very spacious, fully air conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, catering for businessmen, sports groups and family break-aways. The enclosed verandas have seating and braai facilities. Rooms are equipped with a Television, Dstv Decoder, Bar Fridge and kettle with morning beverages.
Families are most welcome and children can amuse themselves on our spacious grounds. Lodge Guests automatically become temporary Members of the Country Club for the duration of their stay. The Lodge is situated next to the 1st Fairway with all rooms having a view of the Golf Course. The Main Clubhouse is a short 100 meter walk away.

Country Inn Restaurant:
The club’s restaurant, a fully licensed A la Carte Restaurant, serves a variety of breakfasts from 06h30 to 11h30 daily and A la Carte Luncheons and Dinners are served in the restaurant and main bar daily.
The restaurant offers catering services for weddings, bithdays, anniversaries or for what ever your needs may be. With 5 highly rated Conference Facilities we can offer our members, guests and visitors an exceptional and professional venue for functions, meetings & seminars with conferencing equipment available on site.
The smallest of all our Function Venues is the Roofers Bar, situated on top of the Golf Shop, this venue has the most beautiful 180 degree view of the Golf Course and is the perfect venue for small intimate functions.
The main Conference Areas have a fixed public Address system, DVD players, Data Projectors, Flipcharts and overhead projectors. Conference Room A is also fitted with a dance floor. All conference Rooms are fully air conditioned
The Clubhouse:
The clubhouse offers a variety of entertainment venues which include the Main Bar with Big Screen LCD Televisions, 2 Snooker Tables, 2 Pool Tables, 2 Dartboards and 5 Gaming Machines for those more adventurous.
The bar veranda offers a picturesque view of the 18th Green and is the perfect place to relax. Live entertainment is available in the bar on Friday evenings. No persons under 18 are allowed into the gaming area or is allowed to be seated at the bar counter or counter tables. The dress code is smart casual
Swimming Pools and Play Park:
Our sparkling swimming pools are a year round attraction and the ideal place to relax and have a braai.
The pools are salt chlorinated and are therefore ideal for everyone. Children can also enjoy the play park situated between the swimming pool area and the restaurant.

History:
Historically named Nazareth, the town of Middelburg was established in 1864 by the local farmers as a midway stop on the ox-wagon trail from Pretoria to Lydenburg. Here travellers could replenish their supplies.
The original golf course was built after the Anglo Boer War in 1903 by the Imperial British Troops, whose cantonments were where the present clubhouse and driving range is situated.
Three separate clubs, Golf, Bowling and Social Clubs originally existed on the site where the Mascot Theatre and Mica Stores are located today.
The arrival of Columbus Stainless in 1962 resulted in an influx of people to Middelburg which caused all available vacant erven to be sold and it became necessary for the Town Council to lay out additional suburbs. The previous location of the Golf, Bowls and Social Clubs were rezoned and resulted in them having to relocate.
These clubs amalgamated and a new club was established on ground donated to by the local Municipality in exchange for the gound on which the original clubs stood. Columbus Stainless, identifying the social and sporting needs of their personnel contributed to the establishment and building of this new club, known as the Middelburg Country Club, officially opened on 23 August 1967. In 1982 a fire destroyed most of the club buildings and with the help of Columbus Stainless the club was rebuilt to what it looks like today.
Middelburg is centrally situated in Mpumalanga within easy reach of Gauteng, the Lowveld and North Eastern Mpumalanga. The world famous Kruger National Park, Blyderiver Canyon and Pilgrims Rest are, all within a 150 –250km radius from the Club. Loskop Dam, Middelburg Dam, the Cycad Hiking Trail and the Botshabelo Cultural Museum are a short distance away and worth a visit.
