Black Leopard Camp Accommodation

The camp has been designed to capture the look and feel of centuries past whilst still offering the ultimate `Bush Luxury`. The canvas ensures that one remains close to nature while still enjoying the luxuries you`ve come to expect.

Each tented suite contains our famous `bush bathrooms` which allow you to soak in the memories of a fantastic day with the cliffs and the sky as your roof. In addition to the `bush bathrooms` each tented suite has an en suite bathroom.

Black Leopard Camp Activities

Game Drives
With such a large number of game and bird species found in this Wilderness, you will be able to spend many hours traversing the scenic mountain tracks in search of Leopard, Narina Trogan, Mountain Reedbuck, Black Eagle, Oryx (Gemsbok) and of course our giant Kudu Bulls !

Your professional, experienced guide will skilfully lead you from the protea veld on top of a mountain to the lush vegetation of the lowveld in the matter of hours, all the while teaching you new and fascinating facts about the African Bush!

Bush Walks
On a beautiful morning and dependent on energy levels you can opt for a bush walk in this wondrous wilderness, learning about the tracks you may see – possibly tracking last nights Leopard movements! Along the way you could have the opportunity to check on the “motion sensitive” camera traps on the reserve, and hopefully be the one to get a picture of the elusive Legendary Black Leopard!

Archeological Exploration
The Reserve boasts an amazingly high concentration of ruins, from early pioneer (Voortrekker) to ancient indigenous tribes. Why not explore the fascinating rock etchings or search for early artifacts with our metal detector. The farm has aptly named a large pioneer settlement ‘The Museum’ and many wonderful artifacts are found there daily from porcelain to tools and more.

Astronomy
Even with th
e naked eye the stars over Black Leopard Camp at night are truly breathtaking and anyone with a passion for the celestial will spend many hours marveling at the clarity of the stars being viewed overhead!

During your stay with us, spend a night SLEEPING OUT UNDER THE STARS - for a genuine bush immersion experience in our tails camp “Buffalo Thorn Camp” – roughing it and loving it ! and then return in the morning to the luxury of your tent at main camp Black Leopard.

Kruger Park Excursions
We are geared to offering a Kruger Park experience as an add-on to your Black Leopard Camp stay. We will take you to the Kruger National Park in a luxury air-conditioned mini bus for a night or two’s stay. Our Owner-guide, Mike will accompany you all the way.

(Please note that we will quote separately for this add-on excursion). This excursion has to be booked and pre-arranged well in advance.

Fireside Learning
Part of the ‘bush immersion’ you will be experiencing is that at all times you will be learning about the bush around you. At night with drink in hand we will go over what we learnt that day and you can ask the questions you forgot to ask or delve deeper into a subject that catches your interest. At the end of your stay you can leave more knowledgeable about certain aspects of the bush and the wonderful animals you have experienced.

Mountain Biking
We are happy for guests to bring along their mountain bikes, to enjoy our challenging routes. At the moment the mountainous roads are more suited to experienced mountain bikers.

Bush Relax
One of the greatest activities on offer at Black Leopard Camp is the fact that you do not have to do any of the above! If you need some time to just relax and find yourself again then this is the place. Relax on your own private patio or with a book next to the splash pool or put your feet up in the lounge – it is up to you!
“We design the activities around YOU!”
