Hippo Pools Resort offers a range of self-catering
accommodation, from luxurious riverside houses to smaller budget
rooms. Hippo Pools Resort is a friendly and intimate holiday resort situated
on the Olifants River in close proximity to the Kruger National
Park. |

Hippo Pools Resort Accommodation
All rooms are self-catering, however, there is a great restaurant only
2 km away from us who offer an a la carte menu.
If you are enjoying relaxing at the river, why not let us make your side
dishes for your own braai.
The resort boasts a small riverside chapel for intimate weddings, a private
airstrip for avid aviator’s microlight trips can be arranged for
anyone keen to give it a try, a large swimming pool, games room and tea
garden for light snacks and drinks.
Hippo Cottage
Private cottage with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, full kitchen, lounge
with mnet, air-con throughout, private swimming pool, private riverside
lapa.
Privately situated along the river the cottage is perfect for larger family
groups as it can sleep up to 10 people.
Poolside rooms
Each room has a double and single bed, kitchenette with microwave, bathroom,
aircon , colour tv (SABC channels) the rooms have a braai area and seating
facing the large resort pool.
Luxury Rondavel
Thatched Rondavel with queen size bed, air con , colour tv (SABC plus
Mnet) bathroom, kitchenette with microwave.
Braai area outside.
Budget rooms
We also offer basic accommodation for guests in our budget rooms.
Each have a double and single bed, basic s/c facilities, bathroom, aircon
and are ideal for backpackers.

Directions to Hippo Pools Resort
From Johannesburg
Take the N12 from Johannesburg; continue past the Middleburg Toll gate
Take the Belfast off ramp and continue driving toward Dullstroom and Lydenburg
From Lydenburg drive through to Ohrigstad, please do drive carefully as
there are often cattle on the road and potholes.
Drive through the Abel Erasmus pass and through the Strydom tunnel
Continue on toward Hoedspruit.
Go through the town and at the 2nd four way stop turn left onto the R40
driving toward Phalaborwa
Continue for just over 20kms, Hippo Pools Resort is on the left hand side
tar road access down to the resort.
If you go over the Olifants River you have gone just too far.
From Polokwane
Drive to Tzaneen and from Tzaneen take the R71 toward Gravelotte
From Gravelotte drive toward Mica and at the T junction turn right toward
Mica
Drive past Mica and over the Olifants River
1km from the river is a turnoff on the right hand side for Hippo Pools
