Nestled on 100ha in a secluded valley near Hazyview in Mpumalanga province 10km from the world famous Kruger National Park. Summerfields Rose Retreat comprises of a lodge, spa and restaurant, set on Summerfields Rose Farm, famous for its export quality hybrid tea roses and macadamia nuts (sold at the farm and at Caster Bridge Centre in White River ).

In the vicinity are all the adventurous ideas one might want to consider from game drives to tree canopy aerial walkways.
Luxuriously appointed, tented suites are set beneath a canopy of Jackalberry and Tambotie trees while Summerfields prides itself on service that is sublime and genteel.

With take off from a nearby Gauteng regional airport, within minutes of arrival at Summerfields you will be immersed into rejuvenation, health and relaxation.

Summerfields River Lodge & Spa Accommodation

The River Lodge consists of 12 exclusive tented suites under a canopy of Jackalberry and Tambotie trees, surrounded by the music of nature – the sounds of cascading water, amplified by a choir of bird calls and the occasional snort of a hippo.

Each luxurious suite ensures total privacy whilst relaxing on the deck with views of the Sabie River, which runs to the Mozambique coastline.

Attention to detail is evident in every rose-variety suite, ensuring a memorable experience, with specially designed furniture, percale linen and the tantalizing fragrance of fresh cut roses from the farm.
All units are air-conditioned with additional roof fans, have double vanities, an outdoor shower and a luxury bath, and are stocked with quality toiletries, and a private fridge for the comfort of guests.

Suites are facilitated with hairdryers, large bath sheets, bath gowns, tea / coffee facilities, quality toiletries, private fridges, air conditioning, roof fans, an electronic safe to accommodate bigger items like laptops and camera and a range of current magazine.

Summerfields Villa
The ultra luxurious and brand new Summerfields Villa has raised the bar in terms of luxury. Set on a plateau with breathtaking 360-degree views, the villa is for the client who seeks exclusivity and absolute privacy.
Accommodating a maximum of 6 guests in 3 rooms, guest will have at their disposal a chef, as well as a dedicated vehicle and driver.
Facilities include 2 king size beds, 2 single beds, 2 TVs with DStv, DVD, Wi Fi, a private pool, gym and a personal therapist. Children over the age of 16 are welcome.

Stone House
New to Summerfields Rose Retreat is the Stone House – ideal for the smaller group or family traveler. With 3 rooms sleeping 6 people, children of all ages are accepted.
The Stone House is an organic rendition of earthy tones and materials, and enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding wilds. There is 1 king size bed, 1 double and 2 single bunk beds, TV with DStv, DVD and Wi Fi

Family Farm House
The Family Farm House is a pleasant escape from the city. It has beautiful views over the mountains and the hippo dam. It is ideal for larger families with children.
Kids can really enjoy the outdoors and even play cricket on the lawns, not to mention the 20m pool and swing in the garden that will keep them busy all day. The pool is fenced, making it safe for the little ones to play outside.

Guests are welcome to help themselves to the vegetables and herbs from the Farm House's own gardens. Although self-catering, meals can be enjoyed at Summerfields Kitchen or at the River Cafe.
With 3 bedrooms (main with dressing room), guest cloak room, dining room seating 10 people, a family room, formal lounge and outside patio there is enough room to really enjoy a true farm house experience.

Not to forget the resident cat Mia who will ensure that no mice enters the house. Vehicles are parked in a double garage.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee machine (with beans) washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.The house is fully serviced by a housekeeper from Monday to Friday from 07:30 -16:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from 07:30 -12:00.

The Spa
At the Spa you will find both indulgence and immediate healing in a variety of unique, signature treatments and facilities such as the rose quartz steam shower. Then take dinner over-looking the valley and be mesmerized by our chefs culinary skill.
Restaurant
Breakfast and lunch are available from the River Cafe and dinner from Summerfields Kitchen. Both restaurants are licensed, with satellite television available in the lounge and bar area of Summerfields Kitchen.
A lounge and library area with views over the Sabie River are available at the River Cafe where guest can also connect to the internet via Wi Fi Guest are welcome to book from a range of spa treatments.

Activities
Activities on the 100 ha estate include guided tours of the rose production, walks through the macadamia plantations or along the river bank, sunset hippo gazing from the river pool deck.
In the immediate vicinity are balloon and micro-light flights over the valley, or the panoramic God’s Window; guided game drives during the day or evenings; mountain bike and hiking trials; tree-canopy aerial walkways, or river-rafting; and 2 excellent championship golf courses.

How To Get To Summerfields River Lodge & Spa

From Pretoria – Take the N4 towards Witbank / Middelburg and From Johannesburg – Take the N12 towards Witbank / Middelburg
Then join or stay on the N4 towards Middelburg, continue through Machadodorp en-route to Nelspruit. Head North on the R40 through White River and Hazyview.
Continue down Main Street, Hazyview. At the Perry's Bridge stop, turn left on the R536 towards Sabie. Summerfields Estate is 4.5 km from here. Follow the Summerfields sign boards and turn right into the Summerfields Restaurant parking area.
