The Royal Hotel is home to 204 superb rooms with a panoramic view of the city and harbour. Decorated with traditional elegance in mind, each room provides sophisticated comfort and charming warmth.
All Standard rooms feature en-suite bathroom facilities, air-conditioning and heating, telephones, and satellite TV.
Executive suites feature en-suite bathroom facilities, air-conditioning and heating, a separate lounge, telephone with voice mail and colour TV with satellite.
In every room of the hotel you will find TV with selected DSTV channels, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, a safety deposit box, air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, and wake-up call facilities.

- Executive Double Room is a double bedded room and there is 60 of them.
- Executive Twin Room has two single beds in a room there is 93 of these.
- Club Floor Room is a double bedded room and there's 34 of this kind.
- Club Floor Suite is a double bedded room with a lounge and there are only 3 of them.
- Paraplegic Rooms are equipped for paraplegic guests and there are 2 of these.
- Executive Suite is a double bedded room with a lounge and there is 11 of them.
- Executive Suite Twin is a twin bedded room with a lounge and there is only 1 of this type.

Top of The Royal, situated 20 floors above the hustle and bustle of the city below, provides a memorable venue for up to 80 people.
-The Committee and Harbour View boardrooms both provide seating for up to 12 people.
-The Yellowwood Room - seats up to 550 persons.
-The Prince Alfred Room – seats up to 150 persons and can be subdivided into smaller venues that can host up to 30 people.
-The Royal Boardroom – seats up to 100 persons.
-The Marine Room – seats up to 100 persons.
-Berea View – seats up to 30 persons and looks out over the Berea suburb.
-Town Garden Suite – seats up to 70 persons.

Conference Facilities.
The Royal Hotel is equipped to offer exceptional service and assistance when planning your conference. Our equipment and our venues provide the perfect space to do business.
The standard conference equipment includes a lectern, flip chart, 2 pens, and screen. A PA system, microphone, carousel slide projector, TV and VCR, and data projectors are available to hire.

Wedding Venues and Facilities
The Prince Alfred Room - Dimensions (Total): 11.7 X 31.5 m (area - 316m). PAX: 320 theatre, 150 conference, 250 banquet herringbone, 120 formal banquet, 180 banquet round table, 150 dinner dance, 150 buffet / dance, 350 dance cocktail.
This function room has the advantage of offering itself in its entirety or as two, three or four separate areas which can operate independently of one another.
These are known as the Prince Alfred Room Suites 1,2,3 & 4, provide the ideal venue for all types of functions. Curtaining in subtle shades complement the rich carpeting and brass chandeliers, providing an elegant setting suitable for any occasion.

Royal Boardroom & Marine Room - Boardroom Dimensions: 11.8 x 12.5 m (area - 127m) Boardroom PAX: 100 theatre, 60 conference, 60 banquet herringbone, 60 formal banquet, 60 banquet round table, 60 dinner dance, 50 buffet/dance, 100 dance cocktail.

These are two of the most practical and intimate function rooms available. Both of these rooms are ideally suited for business workshops, luncheons, smaller functions, board meetings and conferences.
An interleading doorway between the rooms adds to the flexibility of these suites. Both suites are paneled with magnificent yellowwood complemented by brass chandeliers making these rooms suitable for any occasion.

The Top of the Royal - The Top of The Royal has one of the finest settings in Durban, offering panoramic views of Durban Bay. This is an ideal venue for luncheons and dinners as well as cocktail parties. The Top of The Royal has also become a popular venue for weddings as it provides the perfect setting for such a momentous occasion

This luxurious ballroom combines space with elegance and has the advantage of incorporating the convenient AnteRoom, linked both indoors through the hotel and outdoors by an open-air promenade.
