Centrally situated in Dullstroom's main road, Auldstone House is the ideal place from which to explore Dullstroom.
The view over the main road is of the hills to the east, making it the ideal place to watch the ever-changing weather conditions.
Five comfortably appointed suites with either under-floor heating or fireplace are situated on the upper level, offering excellent value for money with secure parking behind the building.

On the lower level guests can enjoy a whisky tasting at Wild about Whisky, South Africa's best stocked whisky bar, shop for winter woolies and blankets at Wild 'n Wooly, or browse through tourist information brochures at Dullstroom Reservations.

Dullstroom is 2 hours away from the Kruger National Park, and 1 hour away from the Panorama Route, which includes Long Tom Pass, Sabie, Pilgrim's Rest, Graskop and Blyde RIver Canyon. Being only 2 hours away from Johannesburg it is the ideal stopover for tourists en route to the Lowveld area from Johannesburg's O R Tambo International Airport.

 

Auldstone House Accommodation

The accommodation comprises 5 suites, all with tea and coffee making facilities (tea/coffee supplied), en-suite bathrooms, secure parking, DSTV (hotel bouquet)* and DVD player. All suites are large and airy, furnished with cupboards and dressing tables, and are carpeted. All linen is provided, including bath towels, hand towels and bed-linen.

Extra blankets and heaters are provided, as well as electric blankets for those really cold nights. Included in each suite are good quality pillows, bedside tables, bedside lamps, a couch or easy chairs, a large cupboard, a dressing table and stool, fresh soap & shampoo, toilet paper, tissues, firewood/coal/firelighters (where applicable), matches, candles, an emergency light and fire extinguisher.

Suite 1 and Suite 2 each have a fireplace and bathroom en-suite. Suite 3 has a lounge with fireplace and under-floor heating, a kitchen, and bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
Suite 4 has under-carpet heating and en-suite bathroom. Suite 5 has a kitchenette, under-floor heating and en-suite bathroom. *Hotel bouquet, including M-Net, MM1, MM2, SABC1, SABC2, SABC3, eTV and Supersport.

Please note: No smoking is permitted in any of the suites, and no pets are allowed.

Suite 1 which sleeps 2 is a bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath only), featuring a queen-size bed and small couch in front of an open fireplace. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, as are firewood and firelighters for the open fireplace.

Suite 2 which also sleeps 2 is a bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath and shower), featuring 2 single beds or a king-sized bed and 2 easy chairs in front of an open fireplace. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, as are firewood and firelighters for the open fireplace. A small fridge / freezer is provided.

Suite 3 which sleeps 3 is the largest suite, comprising an open plan lounge/dining area/kitchen, main bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath only), and a small second bedroom with a single bed.
The main bedrooom has a queen-size bed. The lounge, main bedroom and kitchen are warmed by under-floor heating, and a large open fireplace is a central feature in the lounge.
A large sliding door opens onto a balcony with a view of the surrounding area. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, as are firewood and firelighters for the open fireplace. An interleading door to suite 4 can be unlocked to provide a large family unit sleeping 6.
The kitchen is well appointed, with oven/4-plate hob, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, cooking utensils, glassware, crockery and cutlery.

Suite 4 which sleeps 3 is a bedroom with en-suite bathroom (shower only), featuring a double bed and 1 single bed. Under-carpeted heating warms the bedroom.
Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. An interleading door tosuite 3 is normally locked, but can be opened, making for a large family suite accommodating 6.

Suite 5 which sleeps 2 is a self-catering suite featuring a kitchenette with small dining table, bedroom with either 2 single beds or a king-size bed, and en-suite bathroom (bath only).
Underfloor heatings wamrs the bedroom and kitchen area. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided.The kitchen is well appointed, with oven/4-plate hob, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, cooking utensils, glassware and crockery.

Directions from Gauteng
Take the N12 highway to Witbank. (Just before Witbank it joins with the N4 highway. Travel on this highway to Middelburg/Belfast.
Travel for approx 76km before turning off to Belfast. Continue through the town of Belfast. At the 5th stop sign (Toyota Garage), turn right to Dullstroom / Lydenburg.
Travel on the R540 for 33 km. Continue through the intersection at the BP garage for approx. 200m on the main road (Naledi Drive). Auldstone House is situated on the left hand side.

Directions from Lydenburg
Follow the R540 to Dullstroom (approx 56km). As you enter the village, pass the first stop sign (with the Critchley Common on your LEFT).
Continue along the main road, passing the Old Transvaal Inn and through the intersection at The Poacher on the left hand side. Continue after the stop sign for approx 200m Auldstone House on the right hand side.
