Ullapool, an appealing port and resort in Wester Ross, the fishing port of Ullapool in Wester Ross comes alive in summer when it receives a large influx of holidaymakers. Fern Cottage is a luxurious, well furnished holiday home on Braes, Ullapool, just one mile from the village centre. The large, private landscaped garden offers tranquillity and relaxation, with beautiful views of the mountains across Loch Broom.

Fern Cottage is a very comfortably furnished single storey holiday cottage offering spacious self catering accommodation for up to 4 people. It has a 4 star Visit Scotland grading. With 2 bedrooms, both en suite, a lounge, sun lounge, dining kitchen and utility room, this cottage offers a tranquil, private base from which to enjoy a holiday.

This two bedroom cottage, one double and one twin (converting to kingsize if required) provides spacious accommodation. A cot and high chair are also available on request. The cottage is double glazed throughout and warmed by Total Control Electric Heating. All bed linen and towels are included in the price. Electricity is charged at cost, payable at the end of your stay.

A welcome pack including tea/coffee, biscuits etc. awaits your arrival and enables a relaxed start to your holiday. A broad range of information about activities, events, amenities and areas of interest in Ullapool and the wider area is available within the cottage for your convenience.

Smoking and Pets
For the comfort of all guests Fern Cottage does not permit smoking or pets. Holiday lets are weekly, Saturday (arrival after 4.00pm) to Saturday (departure by 10.00am), throughout the year. Short breaks may also be available in the low season.

L’Avventura is a luxurious, detached private villa within its own landscaped garden, situated in an elevated position on Braes of Ullapool, less than 5 minutes drive to the village centre. It can provide very comfortable all inclusive self catering accommodation for up to 8 people. Awaiting Visit Scotland grading.

The villa has a fully fitted kitchen/diner, lounge with flat screen TV, 4 bedrooms (1 on ground floor), 2 en suites and family bathroom on 1st floor, cloakroom on the ground floor and utility room. L’Avventura has a ramped, large front decking area from which you can enjoy stunning panoramic views across Loch Broom and South to the Head of the Loch and mountains beyond.

The Villa offers very comfortable accommodation for up to 8 people in 1 king size, two double and one twin bedroom. The villa is fully double glazed and centrally heated via the stove and supplementary electric boiler. Further warmth is provided via underfloor heating in the kitchen/diner and all bath/shower rooms.

One double bedroom is located on the ground floor, with a downstairs cloakroom close by. A further three bedrooms (kingsize, double and twin/double) are on the first floor. The kingsize and double bedrooms both have their own en-suite shower rooms, whilst the twin/double bedroom is very conveniently located directly opposite the fully tiled, luxurious family bathroom.

A broad range of information about activities, events, amenities and areas of interest in Ullapool and the wider area is available within the villa for your convenience. A complimentary welcome basket including refreshments, biscuits etc is also provided to enable a relaxed start to your holiday.

L’Avventura is let on an all inclusive basis. The weekly cost includes provision of all bed linen, towels, electricity /gas usage, and solid fuel/logs for the multi fuel burning stove.

Important safety notice!
. The hillside garden is steeply sloped in parts, with retaining stone walls and unprotected drops of varying heights. . . There is also a small garden pond, (with fixed grid)
. The lounge has a multi fuel stove which becomes very hot in use.
. For the above reasons L’Avventura is not a suitable or safe environment for toddlers and small children

Out and about in Ullapool
Day Trips
Ullapool is an ideal centre from which to explore the spectacular scenery of the beautiful West Coast of Scotland. Numerous day trips are easily possible, offering relaxed driving, fantastic views and Highland hospitality.

The Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry operates a day trip to the Isle of Lewis, during summer months, which also includes a coach trip around the island.

Boat Cruises and Ferry trips
There are a variety of boat cruises to the Summer Isles, which allow you a view of marine wildlife, seals, porpoises and sometimes Minke whales, as well as colonies of sea birds.

Beaches
There are varied beaches within easy reach of Ullapool, whether you head North or South from the village. Some have sand dunes, others are pebble beaches. Gruinard Bay on the road to Gairloch is a particularly beautiful sandy beach, perfect for a picnic and a paddle or a relaxing stroll.

Walking, Cycling and Rock Climbing
Ullapool and the surrounding countryside is a haven for walkers cyclists and rock climbers of varying experience. There are many recognised routes available, offering fine views and wildlife watching as well as the sense of achievement gained on completion of a planned walk, cycle ride or climb.
