Built in 1845, the Royals important historic features have been preserved

The Royal Hotel Accommodation
Rear facing rooms don't have the same level of period features but are
comfortable and a little quieter than those facing the street at the front
- though this small town is rarely noisy!
A number of these rooms still have baths, rather than showers, so please
ask if this is your preference.
If you want to enjoy the views to the front, please book early (especially
in summer months) and discuss your room choice with our reception staff.
Many of the front-facing, 'castle-view' guest bedrooms (such as the Matheson
Room, above) retain important architectural details, conserved during
a sensitive and ongoing programme of refurbishment.
Modern levels of comfort and features have been added in these rooms,
such as flat screen digital TVs with the full range of Freeview channels,
free wireless broadband access throughout the hotel and ensuite showers
with quality fittings.
