Being situated on the outskirts of Perth and with easy access to the motorway, Ackinnoull is the perfect center for touring some of these palaces and castles.

Scone Castle (2 minutes by car from Ackinnoull) Home to the stone of destiny and the crowning place of Scottish Kings including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce.
Scone palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artifacts.
The grounds are renowned throughout the world.
St Andrews Castle and Cathedral (45 minutes by car) The castle, set on a cliff top overlooking the sea, is famous for its bottle dungeon and fascinating history of deceit and intrigue.
Adjacent, are the impressive remains of the cathedral, completed in 1318 and the largest in Scotland.

There are 3 golf courses in Perth itself, including the majestic King James VI course set on an island in the River Tay.
The famous Murrayshall Golf Course is approximately 3 miles away.
The courses at Rosemount and Gleneagles are within a 30 minute drive of Ackinnoull as are the equally impressive but less expensive courses at Glen Isla, Alyth, Kirriemuir, Auchterarder, Crieff and Downfield.
The courses at Ladybank, Scotscraig, Monifieth and Kenmore and the championship courses at Carnoustie and St Andrews are no more than a 50 minutes away.

Directions

From Edinburgh

Turn off the M90 at junction 11 and follow the signs for the A94 (Coupar Angus).
Ackinnoull is situated on the left hand side of the A94 exactly 2 miles from the M90 motorway.

From Glasgow
From the A9 follow the A93 into Perth.
Follow this road through Perth and continue across the River Tay.
Turning left off the bridge, follow the A94 (Coupar Angus).
Ackinnoull is about a mile from the bridge on the left hand side.

From Inverness
From the A9, follow the A912 into Perth.
Continue for one and a half miles to a major T-junction controlled by traffic lights.
Take the left fork, the A94, and follow this road across the River Tay.
Turning left off the bridge, follow the A94 (Coupar Angus).
Ackinnoull is about half a mile on the left hand side.

Getting there from the Information Centre
From Perth Tourist Information Centre in West Mill Street, Pitcullen Crescent is approximately 15 to 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car.
Leave Perth TIC turning right up West Mill Street and exit right onto Old High Street.
At traffic lights turn right then straight on at roundabout to next set of traffic lights.
Continue straight on through a further set of 3 traffic lights and cross the Perth bridge.
Turn left at the end of the bridge into Bridgend and at the next set of traffic lights follow the right fork, A94 to Pitcullen Crescent.
Ackinnoull Guest House is situated on the left.

Getting There by Car
Pitcullen Crescent is part of the A94 Coupar Angus road, approximately half a mile from Perth city centre.

Getting There by Railway
From Perth train station, a short taxi journey will take you to Pitcullen Crescent.
Alternatively, a short walk into the city centre, following Leonard Street down the hill onto County Place and South Street will enable you to pick up a number 7 bus from outside the main post office situated in South Street.
This service is for Scone, via Pitcullen Crescent.

Getting there by Aeroplane
From Edinburgh airport take M90 motorway northeast to Perth, exiting at junction 11.
Then follow the A94 in the direction of Coupar Angus and at the third set of traffic lights follow the right fork onto Pitcullen Crescent.

From Glasgow airport follow the M8 to Perth.
At the Broxden roundabout follow signs for the city centre- it is one long straight road all the way to the river.
Cross the River Tay by the Queens Bridge and turn left at the end, following signs for the A94 onto Pitcullen Crescent.

Getting There by Ferry
From Rosyth ferry terminal take M90 motorway northeast to Perth, exiting at junction 11.
Then follow the A94 in the direction of Coupar Angus and at the third set of traffic lights follow the right fork onto Pitcullen Crescent.
