Corran House, in the west end of Oban, is part of a Victorian terrace with magnificent views across the bay to the Isle of Kerrera and the hills of Mull. Oban, a small fishing town and busy ferry port, is ideally situated for exploring Argyll and the Hebrides.
Corran House Accommodation
This establishment is a Scottish Tourist Board 4-Star Hostel filling a wee niche in accommodation provision with a variety of room types from 4-bed standard dormitories to spacious, en suite premier guest rooms with spectacular sea views.
Corran House offers good value for money and a much higher degree of privacy than many hostels. Most of the dormitories and guest rooms have private facilities. Additional mattress beds, travel cot and high chair are available. Freeview TV in all rooms. Free WiFi access.

Sea View Rooms
Guest rooms with a sea view. All beds are fully made up including towels
and television with Freeview. We have a cot available for hire per night.
Guest Rooms
There are 3 double rooms. All guest rooms are fully made up including
towels and television with Freeview.
Dorm Beds
Standard Rooms and En-suite Rooms. All dorm rooms are fully made up with
fresh linen every day excluding towels, which are available for hire at
a charge. Say goodbye to lumpy, annoying sleep sheets. At Corran House
we put fresh linen on dormitory beds for every guest.
There is a comfortable sitting-room with wide-screen TV, CD player, keyboard, board games, etc. The large, homely kitchen is well-equipped, and a light breakfast is available with payment to the Honesty Jar.
Larger groups wishing to eat together can be catered for downstairs in Markie Dan's by prior arrangement.

About Oban and Local Area
Visit the Inner Hebridean Islands!
Reputed as the 'Gateway to the Isles' it offers frequent and regular ferry
access to the islands. The 45 minute journey to the nearest Isle
of Mull can be taken every two hours from 8.00am - 6.00pm.
McCaig's Tower
Climb up to McCaig's Tower to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the
harbour and west to the islands.
Balamory
If you have children why not take them on the short ferry journey across
to Balamory, which is in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Visit the Cbeebies

children's television show.
Castles
Explore the historic castles of Dunollie, which is a 15 minute walk along
the coast to the north of Corran House, or Dunstaffnage, which is a 10
minute drive outside Oban

Enjoy a walk through the harbour town, along the coast or into the nearby
mountains
Whisky & Oban Distillery
Discover Scotland's finest whisky at the Oban Distillery or visit Markie
Dans bar, in the Basement of the Corran house, which stocks over 100 different
kinds of Scottish malt whisky.
Camping
Enjoy a night camping on the Island of Kerrera only a short boat ride
across from Oban bay.
Wildlife
Meet the local wildlife with sea safaris, wildlife trips, the sealife
centre, fishing or historic whaling boats.
Golf Courses
Many of Scotland's finest Golf Courses are within an hours drive of the
Corran hotel.
DIRECTIONS
By Car:
The main road into Oban is the A85 (which links to Fort William, Inverness,
Glasgow and Edinburgh). At the mini roundabout, as you arrive into Oban
town, take the 2nd exit on your left which leads towards the sea. Immediately
turn left into the public car park. Corran House is the 3rd house on your
left as you look towards the sea.
By Bus, Railway, Ferry terminal or Foot:
Keeping the sea on your left side, walk around the bay. At the far end
of the esplanade, just before the roundabout, Corran House is above Markie
Dans Bar on your right. This distance is approx 500meters and should take
about 10minutes to walk.
