Activities

Fishing
A popular pastime in this area there are many great fishing spots to be found.
At the River South Esk there are Salmon and Sea trout.
Golf
The surrounding area is a golfing paradise.
From St Andrew's in the south to Aberdeen in the north you will be spoilt for choice. Montrose Links is a five minute drive away and is the fifth oldest golf course in the world.
There are numerous courses in the area of St Andrews to make enquiries regarding bookings.

Dolphins and Seals
Both seals and dolphins are frequent visitors to The Esk and the dolphins are sometimes seen almost as far upstream as the Montrose Basin.
Along with flocks of eider ducks and other sea birds the local ecology is a delight for those drawn to the area for it's beauty.
It's probably best to look for the dolphins as the tide starts to go out as it seems to provide feeding time for these amazing creatures.
