The Townhouse is a privately owned hotel situated in the heart of historic Melrose in the Scottish Borders.
The hotel is expertly run by the Henderson family who also own and run the internationally renowned Burt’s hotel, directly opposite.

The Henderson Family of the renowned Burts Hotel have recently acquired the Townhouse Hotel, formerly Millars Hotel.

Their aim is to provide friendly, personal attention for their guests and to promote the Food and Beverage aspect of the Hotel with the expertise of Head Chef Iain Chapman using the best of produce from Scotland's natural larder.

A sense of style, colour and a pleasing ambience characterise every aspect of the hotel. Good food, in lovely surroundings, along with friendly Scottish hospitality make this a unique setting for our guests to enjoy.

Decorated in contemporary style, The Townhouse Brasserie presents clever food ideas for your enjoyment.
THE RESTAURANT
If you prefer to eat in a more formal setting, try our restaurant. Contemporary yet elegant, we think you’ll find it very much to your taste.
Guests can enjoy Lunch and Supper in the newly refurbished contemporary Bar / Bistro as well as the more formal surroundings of the Restaurant. Private Dining, Functions and Conference facilities are also available for up to 65 persons.
FUNCTION SUITE
The Townhouse's recently refurbished function suite can be used to accommodate private dinner parties, business meetings, conferences (seats 70 theatre style) and is the perfect venue for small wedding receptions.
WEDDINGS
If you are looking for a venue for a small wedding reception, then The Townhouse fits the bill perfectly.
We can accommodate up to 70 guests with private dining, private bar, a small dance floor and stage for evening entertainment.
What could be more special than to get married in the grounds of historic Melrose Abbey, or one of the many other stunning locations in the area, surrounded by your closest friends and family.
We can also help in recommending hairstylists and beauty salons to help the bridal party with preparations for the big day.

Activities
Visitors can enjoy Walking, Cycling, Golf and Horse Racing at Kelso Race Course.
Fishing and Shooting can also be arranged.
The hotel can arrange locally a wealth of activities including golf, fishing, shooting (game and clay), walking, cycling, quad biking and various other exciting pursuits.

Golfers will be spoiled for choice with 21 golf courses on offer throughout the Scottish Borders, including the Roxburghe - home of the Charles Church Scottish Seniors Open.
For the angler, the internationally famous salmon fishing on the river Tweed and the excellent sea trout fishing on its tributaries are the main highlights to be found in the area.
Also, for rugby fans, the world renowned Melrose Sevens makes the town the place to be in April.

From Edinburgh Airport - pick up city bypass (A720) east, then follow signs for A68 south for 29 miles.
Melrose is signposted off the A6091
Getting There by Ferry
From Rosyth - approx 40 miles south - follow signs for Edinburgh City Bypass (A720) then onto A68 south.
