Assynt Cottage is a newly renovated, traditional crofthouse on the Stoer Peninsula in Clashmore, near Lochinver, Sutherland. This very comfortable home has fantastic views of Sutherland's major mountains, the sea, and in the distance, the Western Isles.

Assynt Cottage is a great place for you to relax and enjoy the many outdoor activities available from your doorstep.

Assynt Cottage Accommodation

Recently renovated and decorated Assynt Cottage sleeps 4 and sits in a large, private and enclosed garden. The house faces South and benefits from spectacular open views. The two substantial Bedrooms upstairs, one Double and one Twin. Both rooms have lovely views.

Comfortable, bright and airy sleeping accommodation with ample storage space. The Bedrooms are separated by a landing with a new Bathroom conveniently situated between them. It has a newly fitted bathroom suite and quality tiling. New thermostatic shower above bath, a toilet and basin. Quality bedding, linen and towels are included in the fee.

The sitting room has two large sofas, and a TV/DVD. A bright, comfortable room with a south facing window giving views of The Minch and the Torridon Hills beyond.

There's a well equipped and newly fitted kitchen with an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee machine. The kitchen and dining room are open plan making for a large, sociable cooking and eating area.

There are two windows, one of which looks out towards the sea. The extendable dining table comfortably seats 4 people. To the rear of the kitchen/diner is a Utility Room with washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty space to store boots and jackets.

There's also a Front Porch at the entrance to the house - another useful storage space. The house has Full central heating. Electricity & Central Heating cost included.

The enclosed garden extends to just under one acre so plenty of room for your cars, BBQ's and outdoor games. Storage for bikes, canoes etc. is available in the Barn to the side of the property.

There's a sitting out area with garden furniture at the gable end of the Barn with breathtaking views to the mountains and sea. From the house you will be able to see Highland cattle, deer, seabirds and perhaps our elusive badger!

Assynt Cottage is available for let on a Saturday to Saturday basis although Short Term Lets may be possible subject to availability. This is a very cosy cottage and ideal for renting all year round.

Attractions and Activities
Assynt Cottage is the ideal location for a special holiday in spectacular surroundings - rugged natural beauty with modern comforts. The area abounds with wildlife and there's easy access to a wide range of outdoor activities.
Within walking distance from the house there's a sandy beach, lochs for fishing, cliff walks, The Old Man of Stoer and the Stoer lighthouse where you can spot seals, otters, dolphins and whales.

The small fishing port of Lochinver is a 15 minute drive away and provides a range of facilities : grocer, petrol station, butcher/fish shop, pubs, a bank, Award winning restaurants, a small leisure centre, pottery, gallery and Tourist Information Centre.

Assynt Cottage is ideally suited to people looking for a variety of activities: world class fishing, birdwatching, walking and climbing the famous Assynt mountains, cycling the quiet roads and tracks, shooting, sailing, canoeing, surfing, scuba diving, kayaking, or simply strolling along the many pristine beaches. Boat trips and fossil hunting.

There's a small Leisure Centre in Lochinver and a swimming pool in Ullapool.

History & Culture: Ancient settlements, significant geological sites, crafts, galleries. Gaelic language classes, Highland Games, ceilidhs, photography workshops, musical and creative writing events.

Food & Highland Hospitality: Eating out locally provides a fabulous selection for all tastes and budgets. Delicious locally caught seafood, local game, gourmet pies from the famous pie shop, The Michel Roux Restaurant and other Award Winning eating places.

DIRECTIONS
From Inverness travel to Ullapool and take the A835 to Lochinver. Half mile before entering Lochinver take B869 on right for 6 miles to Stoer. Once through Stoer Village and opposite Stoer Village Hall take first left signed for Culkein and Stoerhead Lighthouse.

Continue along this road for one mile, do not take first left signed for Balchladdich. Continue to next junction passing Village School on right and take the road signed for Stoerhead Lighthouse and Raffin. 500 metres on is a sign for Clashmore down on left, do not go down this road. Continue straight on and you will find Assynt Cottage on the right.
