Your Hosts
Chef/proprietors Colin Craig and Lesley Crosfield are the holders of various awards for their authentic Scottish hospitality and skillful interpretation of modern Scottish cooking.
Now entering its 21st year, The Albannach was awarded a much coveted Michelin star in 2009.
In December 2008, the hotel was awarded a Gold Star from VisitScotland's Quality Assurance Scheme, "in recognition of excellent hospitality and service".

THE HOTEL IS OPEN UNTIL NEW YEAR, THEN CLOSED JANUARY UNTIL MID MARCH 2011

The hotel has recently undergone improvements, including the Byre suite, completed in 2008, boasting its own private terrace complete with hot tub and stunning mountain views.

THE HOTEL IS NOW OPEN ON MONDAYS WITH OPTIONAL SEAFOOD SUPPER (FOR RESIDENTS ONLY)

Our Rooms
We have three double/twin rooms and three suites, all individually decorated, with stylish bathrooms and, of course, views across our walled garden to the sea loch and mountains beyond.
The house exudes a warm, traditional Highland atmosphere and has evolved over 200 years into its present form.

All prices are for two sharing a room or suite, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast

The Restaurant
A room of dark wood, rugs, log fire (when appropriate) and stunning sea and mountain views is the setting for an unhurried, set 5 course dinner, the showcase for all things local, free range and wild.

The Albannach has recently been awarded a Michelin star, one of the food industry's highest awards.

In the 2009 Michelin Guide the Albannach is described as: "An excellent restaurant that stands out in its local area. The food is prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients."

Prime white fish and shellfish are caught and landed in Ullapool and Lochinver or dived for by friends; organic vegetables and free-range eggs are produced by local crofters for our table; a free-range farm in Morayshire supplies our beef and lamb, whilst game, other than barn-reared fowl, is wild and seasonal (Sample Menus)

Even our tableware is made by friend and neighbour David Grant at Highland Stoneware Pottery. A trip to Lochinver would be enhanced by a visit to his workshop and showroom.

Colin's 300 bin wine list evolves continuously and globally, though his strong interest in France is evident.

Two of our suites have a separate sitting room with good small double sofa/bed.Lochinver hotels places to stay in Lochinver

The Loft Suite has an airbath and private deck.

The newly completed Byre suite has its own private terrace with hot tub and spectacular mountain views.

The Penthouse suite also has a separate toilet/bidet/basin and is huge.

We welcome young people over 12 years, but unfortunately cannot accept pets of any age.

Sorry, but we are unable to take single night bookings on Saturdays.

We have long operated a draconian no smoking policy throughout the hotel, although it has been said that the terrace is a fine spot for a post-prandial puff (umbrellas provided).

The hotel is closed January-February. See Offers for Winter and Festive deals.

We will be happy to discuss food dislikes or allergies.
