Lochcarron hotel Welcome to the Struan Cottage!

Nestling at the head of a deep sea loch, from which the village takes its name, between the spectacular Torridon and Kintail mountain ranges, Lochcarron is an excellent centre from which to explore some of the most beautiful and romantic scenery in Scotland.

It is approached from the south via Inverness and Achnasheen (A9, A832 & A890) or via Fort William, passing through Glenshiel or by rail to Strathcarron Station on the scenic Highland Line.

Struan Cottage Accommodation

Struan Cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms. The cottage overlooks the sea loch of Loch Carron on the West coast of Scotland.

Lochcarron Village

Lochcarron village is ever popular with tourists from home and overseas. The village has two hotels, an excellent grocery shop with post office and off licence. There are two garages, a hairdresser, café/restaurant and various visitor attractions.

Day excursions which may be undertaken by car from Lochcarron include Gairloch and the sub-tropical gardens at Inverewe, Applecross and the Bealach na Ba' (Pass of the Cattle), at almost 2,000 feet one of the highest road passes in Britain, or via Kyle of Lochalsh and the new road bridge to the Island of Skye.

For visitors in search of a more active holiday Lochcarron and the surrounding area offers a host of activities, including:

Hill Walking; a number of maps and guides to walks in the area available in the cottage.

Watersports; including boating, sailing, canoeing and scuba diving. Boats and canoes may be hired locally.

Fishing; can be arranged on hill lochs for brown or rainbow trout or sea angling from beach or boat.

Golf; a number of small but challenging courses are near at hand and visiting players are always welcomed.
