Largs
Largs is a traditional and beautiful seaside town on the historic Firth of Clyde. Protected by the encircling arms of the Isle of Bute and the Cumbrae Islands it enjoys a peaceful charm, with miles of esplanade, waterfront cafes and beaches. For lunch and dining out there are bistros, restaurants and bars.

Largs and the Clyde estuary are famous for seafood. Local boats unload in the small harbour and their catch of lobster, scallops, razor clams, langoustine, mussels, oysters and wet fish is exported across Europe, whilst the best is kept back for the local award winning restaurants.

The lifestyle and amenities are rich and varied and include two golf courses in Largs, and 12 more including Royal Troon. On the doorstep there is angling, hill walking, rambling, horse riding, cycling, ten-pin bowling and rigid inflatable power boating to name a few activities.

The Sport Scotland Training facility and the Vikingar with indoor swimming are both in Largs. The National Watersports Centre is ten minutes by ferry. Sailing courses are also run from Largs Marina.

If you want to relax there are beaches, waterfronts walks, ferries to the nearby islands, stately homes, children’s parks, pitch and putt, Kelburn Castle (Secret Forest, soft play area, kid’s menagerie and café), Loudoun Castle (40 minutes drive and another great family day out) plus shopping in Largs and Glasgow as well as the Burrell Collection, Rennie Macintosh and other exhibitions easily reached by car, train or bus.
