Kyle of Lochalsh hotel Muirhouses Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast is a traditional farmhouse that dates back to the 18th century. It is set within a working livestock and arable farm on the outskirts of Kirriemuir.

Muirhouses Farm Accommodation

Muirhouses Bed and Breakfast offers you superior accommodation in a family farmhouse situated in the beautiful Angus Glens. There are three large bedrooms that are tastefully decorated and furnished to suit the character of the house. Each bedroom has LCD TV, Coffee & Tea, Towels, Hospitality Trays, Hair Dryer, Toiletries, Fresh Flowers and wireless Internet.

Caddam Wood Bedroom is a very large Family Room with en-suite facilities. The room is ideal for families and will sleep up to four people.

Longbank Bedroom is a Twin Room (or Double Room) with Private Bathroom facilities. It has views of Longbank Woods and Farmland.

Golf Course Bedroom is a large room with Kingsize Bed. Occupancy for Golfcourse room is 2 plus cot. This room overlooks Kirriemuir Golfcourse.

Guests of Muirhouses B&B can also use the Guest Lounge and Dining Room. The Guest Lounge includes an open fire, comfortable seating, television, books, newspapers, and a fridge. The Dining Room has a large dining table and seats up to 8 people. Free WiFi Internet is also available.

Dining
A full Scottish or continental breakfast is served in the dining room. Freshly home-baked bread and oatcakes, home-made preserves, eggs from a neighbour's farm. Bacon & sausages from the local butcher - simply delicious.

Packed lunches can be supplied if prior notice is given. The Drovers Inn offers both traditional Scottish and contemporary fine dining for lunch & evening meals.

Gardens and Countryside
Muirhouses is a family farmhouse within an arable and livestock farm situated in the beautiful Angus Glens. There are large, private mature gardens with summer house and barbeque for you to enjoy. Take in the wildlife and spectacular views of the surrounding farmland and the mountains beyond. Stabling is available for horses.

Kirriemuir is the birthplace of Peter Pan's creator, JM Barrie. Visit his home as it may have been furnished in the 19th Century. Kirriemuir also has a Camera Obscura, which was gifted to the town by J M Barrie. Camera Obscura is situated in the Cricket Pavilion on Kirriemuir Hill.

Cairngorm National Park
Muirhouses Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast is set amidst the beautiful Angus countryside, close to the Cairngorm National Park. With the Cairngorm National Park on our doorstep, hillwalking (Glen Clova, Glen Prosen and the Grampain Mountains), mountaineering, cycling and fishing are just a few of the pastimes available (VisitScotland Walkers' & Cyclists' Welcome scheme).

Wildlife
The Caenlochan Nature reserve and RSPB Kinnordy Loch are also close by, catering for nature lovers and bird watchers. The Ospreys can be seen regularly, feeding at Kinnordy Loch.

Livestock and Arable Farm
Muirhouses is a livestock and arable farm, traditional to the area here at the foot of the Grampian Mountains.
Crops grown include barley for malting whisky, potatoes and grass. We have a suckler herd of Angus Limousin cows and a flock of Suffolk sheep producing succulent spring lamb. We are building up a small, but select, herd of pedigree Limousins which run commercially with the suckler cows.

Golf
Muirhouses is the ideal base for golfing. Muirhouses has is next to and has views over Kirriemuir Golf Course. There are an abundance of Golf Courses within easy distance including, Alyth, Rosemount, Edzell, Carnoustie, Forfar and St. Andrews.

Horse Riding
Riders can hack out escape to the foothills of the Angus Glens via the quiet country roads. Stabling for your horse is available at Muirhouses Farm.

DIRECTIONS
Travelling on the A90 Dual Carriageway between Dundee and Aberdeen, follow directions to Kirriemuir (A926). From Kirriemuir, follow signs to Cortachy/The Angus Glens. During your journey you should see Muirhouses B&B Tourist Traffic Signs (Brown Tourist Signs). Follow the tourist signs to Muirhouses Farmhouse.
