Kirkcaldy hotel Muriel purchased the Elbow Room in 2004 after it had been closed for over 2 years. She has since transformed it into a thriving family business with a busy bar and restaurant and has recently expanded into the accommodation sector.

The Elbow Room Accommodation

Formerly known as the “Royal Oak Hotel” the upper section of the property has been completely refurbished allowing her to offer 6 comfortable en-suite bedrooms at an extremely competitive rate.

The Elbow Room has 6 en-suite bedrooms all with power showers, wireless broadband, LCD TV's with full SKY package including movies and sport., hospitality trays and the comfiest of beds.

There is a large car park at the rear of the building and it is conveniently situated just off the A92 providing easy access to Dundee (40 min's) Perth (45 min's), Edinburgh (40 min's) and Glasgow (1 hr).

There are plenty of golf clubs within a short drive of the premises and Fife Ice Arena is only a 2 min walk away. Muriel & her family look forward to welcoming you to The Elbow Room.

Breakfast Menu
Help yourself to cereals, fruit juice, yogurts etc. and then you can order a full Scottish breakfast made to your liking with as much or as little as you like. If you would prefer something lighter like scrambled or poached egg on toast, no problem.

The Elbow Room Restaurant offers good quality food at reasonable prices 7 days a week. We use all local, fresh, products. The restaurant itself is a very pleasant room with dark wood panelling and a feature fireplace and it is also available for private functions at the week-end from 8 - 12.00pm.

In years gone by it was used by Kirkcaldy Folk Club and was featured on BBC television, it also played host to dancing and many a local couple met and started "going steady" at The Elbow Room.

The SKY music channels are also on during the day and a pool table, trivia machine and fruit machine - are on hand to keep you occupied.

The Bar is decorated in an Ice Hockey theme with tops and photos from various teams over the years but predominately the great Fife Flyers.
