Self Catering Lodges
The unusual design of these two-storey buildings gives a pleasing sense of airiness and space inside, while externally they blend gracefully into their attractive 12 acre setting of sloping woodland and wild garden. The lodges are double-glazed throughout, and heavily insulated. There is a cast iron coal effect fire and night-store heaters in the lounge area. There are wall-mounted heaters in every room and a heated towel rail in the shower room.

Crockery, cutlery and glassware are provided, together with ample cooking utensils, electric cooker, slow cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is also an automatic clothes washing machine, tumble drier, an iron, ironing board, clothes airier, and a hair drier.

There is TV, DVD, CD/Radio cassette player and a selection of books and games for your entertainment, in each Lodge. On the lower floor is a large high ceiling lounge/dining room, well equipped kitchen, shower and toilet room, generous cupboard space and bedroom with a set of full size bunks.

Sliding glass doors open out on to a large decked veranda overlooking the gardens and the mountains beyond. The veranda is fenced about and has a child/pet proof bolt on its gate. Each lodge has ample parking space alongside.

Upstairs there is one double-bedded, and one twin-bedded room. Cots are available, complete with cot linen. There is also a high chair and baby bath in each lodge, and an extra fireguard to keep ‘crawlers’ well away from the living room heater.

Activities and Attractions
Invergloy is well situated for walkers and for car tours of outstanding scenic beauty and historic interest. A dozen castles and countless lochs are within easy reach by car.

On the opposite side of Loch Lochy are forest walks, the Great Glen Way and cycle route along with the famous Dark Mile, used by Bonnie Prince Charlie in his escape after Culloden in 1746. There is a fine museum nearby, dedicated partly to the Cameron clan (this being very much Cameron country), and partly to the Commandos, who trained in this area during the Second World War.

The nearest railway station, connecting with Glasgow and all stations south, is at Spean Bridge where there is also a Post Office, general store, two churches, 9-hole golf course, and restaurants, and there are other excellent eating places even nearer.

At Fort William there are supermarkets and shops of all kinds, cinemas, library, squash courts, swimming pool, climbing wall, pony trekking, and of course Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain.

Near Ben Nevis is Aonach Mor where a modern gondola system whisks you in warm smooth comfort and perfect safety some two thousand feet up the mountainside for spectacular views, first rate meals or snacks, graded walks, or of course skiing/snow boarding when in season.

The modern facilities at this well designed ski area offer outstanding opportunities for a wide range of abilities and a great deal of fun in the snow. Highest run is 4,000ft and the longest run is 2km with 35 downhill runs. A creche is available for 3 to 7 yr olds. Full equipment hire is available.

The 'Road to the Isles' leads off from Fort William to Glenfinnan, Morar and Mallaig, or you could visit them by steam train on what is widely held to be one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world.

The recently built bridge to Skye can be reached in less than 2 hours - and crossed in just 2 minutes more! In another direction, an easy day's drive can take in Culloden Battlefield (where Bonnie Prince Charlie was finally defeated in 1746) and Cawdor Castle (an absolute gem).

Alternatively, you can go dolphin spotting at Inverness, or Nessie spotting at Loch Ness.
