Hawick hotel The Horse and Hound Country Inn began it’s working life as a coaching inn in 1701.

The old smithy attached to the gable end is now the very spacious and tastefully decorated lounge where you can enjoy the best of traditional Scottish fayre for both lunch and evening meals.

The Horse and Hound began its working life as a Coaching inn in 1701. It is a warm and welcoming place to stay full of character and original features but also some modern ones such as Steam Showers.

Our traditional country style restaurant offers the perfect atmosphere in which to enjoy traditional Scottish Fayre. The lounge Bar is spacious and has a typical 17th Century feel where you can enjoy a light lunch or bar meal.

The public bar has many original features and also boasts a welcoming fire , real ales and a warm and friendly environment.
